I watched First Squad: The Moment of Truth last night, so I dreamt I was learning how to speak Russian.
I wish I knew how to speak Russian, if only to know what an American accent sounds like. ^^

I have very strange, depressing, vivid, and sometimes gross dreams. I have a recurring fear of the destruction of cultural artifacts, especially in the middle east and I think that triggers a lot of nightmares in me.
Two recent dreams I had that I remember images of more than anything else...
Depressing:
The last one I remember was myself with a friend in Egypt, in the archaeological remnants of an early medieval Coptic church. It seemed like it was a fixture of our hometown where we would hang out, even I've never been to Egypt and this church was purely imaginary, though mundane enough that I'm sure there are plenty of examples like it there. Apparently the only thing remaining of it was one small room, possibly a baptistry. It was next to an overcast beach, and I could feel the salt spray. It looked more like northern California than Egypt. The church grounds were overrun with weeds and the only parts in surviving condition were mosaics depicting the face of Jesus, the face of an apostle, and a typical abstract floor pattern.
I was lamenting over the destruction of similar structures in Iraq and Syria with my friend, lost in the past. We both felt like we didn't belong to the modern world and longed for something pure and ancient. I have a lot of dreams like this where I invent pieces of art and history that don't exist (and seem incredibly mundane to those not interested in art and history, heh)...
An image of a Coptic mosaic. The ones in my dream didn't look as refined as this because I was perhaps thinking of the murals at Dura-Europos.

Or I was thinking of Coptic fabrics and carvings which are a lot more abstract and not as detailed:

Gross:
Have you ever had the Japanese drink Calpis? If not I highly recommend it. It's a yogurt-flavored, non-carbonated soda. There's also a delicious strawberry flavor.

In my dream, I had a vision of how the strawberry flavor was made: There were a bunch of Japanese high school boys getting their virgin asses raped and stabbed with sharpened pencils and the drink was the mixture of semen and blood from their ruptured assholes. I didn't really notice how fucked up it was until I wrote that out. I did know beforehand that "Calpis" is Japanese slang for semen though, so maybe it's not all my insane subconscious...
I dreamt that I was about to go to bed. Then my alarm went off. It sucked
I dreamed that I watched someone accidentally crash a boat (like, a pirate boat???) into my local art museum. I was devastated. That's probably a sign that I should go back there as it's been some time. I've gone there so much that the artworks there are all familiar to me, but it's been a while so they've probably done the typical behind-the-scenes piece rotation.
One day, I will have my dreams back, just you wait, my stubborn brain. >.<
Being aware that I'm in a dream has become something of a trend thse past few months. Still not any kind of awareness on the level of lucid dreaming, though. It also seems like the thing that always alerts me to the dream is a sense of deju-vu, like I've had this exact dream before.
I was some sort of ghost or demon thing, idk. There were two of us. We were in some sort of building, just a single floor of it anyway. It was like, a rather long corridor with rooms coming off the sides. In each room there was just a normal person doing stuff, like playing games, listening to music, etc. I don't think the people could see us.
Our job was to go round each room, and to see if the person inside needed to be killed. If there was some object in the room with some sort of reddish square on it that looked a bit like a blood splatter, they had to die. We had to kill them by smashing their head in to the square. On the back of the object would be some glue, which we would use to stick the object and body to the wall.
After we were done with all the rooms, some omnipresent voice said "you will not pay for this".
The two of us went in to some dark spacey room at the end of the corridor. We both laughed, and he (and I assume I as well) had a smile like Sauron's negotiator.
I woke up rather sweaty at 0530.
I recently had the most wonderful dream where I fell in love with Miss Kobayashi! I recall we met at this weird dance class that was arranged like a banquet hall; a grid of round tables around a wooden dance floor; the instructor would put on some soft music and ask us to freestyle. I remember I was quite shy about going, to the point where I was hesitant to even step through the door. I could not dance, I still can't dance. But there I found her sitting at one of the tables, still clad in her work uniform, looking mildly unimpressed with the whole affair. Her countenance brightened considerably once we got to chatting.
It turned out we worked together. As we spent more and more time together making witty banter and talking about our observations of the world, I found out I had feelings for her, and she found she had feelings for me. She had this sardonic sense of humor that only came out in our time with each other. Her smile alone could brighten my entire world, and her laughter sent my heart aflutter. I daresay we might've even been intimate with each other. I distinctly remember caressing her curves, parting her legs; sucking softly at her neck as I unbuttoned her shirt...
Whenever our eyes met, I felt this sort of quiet admiration welling up from the bottom of my heart. There was a certain sincerity in her gaze, an earnestness to her smile. Above all else, that's what I'd look for in my perfect partner.
She even told me her first name!
It's Haruka.
There were still many problems with our lives. We were overworked, and our boss was a tyrant. Our families had sold their souls in pursuit of the dollar, and her mother routinely rebuked her for not making more at her age. But we'd found each other's company through this wild ride known as life, and that was what mattered.
I love you, Kobayashi-chan. <3

Was she 3D or was it Roger Rabbit style?
Does anyone here who is bilingual dream in different languages?
It seems to develop very, very slowly. I've been learning Japanese for about 8 years now, give or take, and I will have dreams with it decently often, but usually only a sentence or two, and usually of dubious grammatical accuracy.
If your first language isn't English but you use it all the time online or something like that though, I can see how it would get into your subconscious more quickly and thoroughly.

Perfectly okay.

Man, talk about weird dreams. Today I envisioned that while I was riding in the car with my mom to get groceries or whatever, this gigantic zebra-striped sphere appeared in the sky. It was several times larger than the rising moon, and would've bore a striking resemblance to Leliel from Evangelion if it hadn't been for the spinning facets and underbelly of gridded rocket motors. It appeared to act confused, looking about as we gawked at it, before firing up its engines and beating a hasty retreat.
Only upon the dream's epilogue did I find out this monstrosity was really just a lonely alien looking for friends, who'd been pointed to Earth by a sign that said "FREE T.V. - 642 1/2 LIGHT YEARS". Having learned that, I kinda wish he'd stuck around. ^^

Man, even more weird dreams. This time I'm the cousin of Lincoln from The Loud House (wherein one hapless dude has to survive living with his nine sisters), and apparently I'm hanging in his oldest sis' room. She walks in, and the first thing she says after putting down her stuff is,
"We're just cousins, so don't get any funny ideas."
So I squint at her and I'm like, "... How old are you?"
"Should that really matter?!"
At this point I'm pretty much dumbfounded, so I try reasoning with her. Said, "Well, eh, I'm just tryin' to enjoy your company, hun. Ain't nothin' to i-"
To which she snaps, "Do you really have to sound so specific about it?!"
And I'm just like,

The other dream I had was even more outlandish, involving Homer from the Simpsons playing a cursed video game and getting committed to a mental ward; them, me, and some other characters sallying forth to break him out; a front desk clerk who made casual chit-chat despite having his throat slit (whom we promptly knocked out to steal his butterfly knife); Naka (from Kantai Collection) nailing Vin Diesel with a metal lunch-tray to the dome; and me ascending to godhood after falling in love with Sadako from The Ring. Even though I can recall every single scene in precise detail, I still have no idea how to properly convey what happened.
She's a cutie though, not gonna lie. <3

Some dream scenes, characters or environments are much stricter than others are, but that doesn't stop you from changing things around in your favor to some degree.
Had a dream last night about my mom's cat who she put to sleep last year at a very old age. She was an all-black cat but in my dream she had a mixed coat of black and white like a cow. Maybe I blended her with my dad's current cat, who's all white?
I had three possible concepts running through my head last night, although all of them are just visualization scenes each lasting around 5-10 minutes. Since I am now working on perfecting my timing of REM and spotting cues, I am slowly regaining my lucid powers back.
>The first came in at around 23:30 hours, I was assigned to one of Julis van Reissfeld's regiments, #37, callsign Pointman. At some point in Lieseltania's past, I was a private rank equivalent in an alternate 1943-44 campaign, fighting against the Communist Bloc's Red Guards over the Eastern Front with a Kar 98 rifle and was one of the luckiest boys on the field to sortie with other Kar 98s with me, both boys and girls around my age. It was late summer; in what would be one of the soon-to-be worst battles in an alternate Germany scenario where instead of falling back, we are pushing through the enemy frontlines all the while with random gunfire sounds, smoke, artillery, and planes' dogfighting.
>This could hint that I may have some German ancestral roots, but the reality is that despite having pure German blood on me, I display some sort of mercy to those I fought rather than outright kill them. Some of those Red Guard girls I shot but did not kill when I checked on them had chastised me for my actions. Maybe they have some capacity to show their true feelings they would otherwise direct return fire towards me. Some of my fellow squad mates begin to question the meaning of "Was ist der Sinn der Liebe, wenn wir uns nur noch gegenseitig bekämpfen müssen??" I even saved some poor hostages in a nearby Russian town and run like hell back to our forward outpost so that the rest of our sortie can get them to safety somewhere else. One of the cute Russian sniper girls there thought that sniping isn't worth it for her own country, so I take her outside too as soon as she sees me upon breaching the door and fight alongside me, at least for a short while. A little compassion along the way keeps a bullet away. We barely won, but we still take heavy casualties and their leaders in the Kremlin bemused. I barely seem to make it through that one, gunshot wounds and all.
>The second came in at around 01:20 hours, this one is a high school reminisce of mine with a very small twist, but not much change to the real outcome. It was almost summertime, just days before the 2015 graduation in my hometown, I have a brief one-on-one friendly conversation with a girl near some trees not too far from the school and there is no one else around after everyone had left.
>And last but not least, at around 02:30 hours, inside Lucia's palace, a young noble girl spot me whilst I am making the beds for all the servants to start the day. It is definitely Miya of course. At first, I thought she was going to lecture me about the bigger picture I constantly poke around for months, but instead she decides to have a little casual talk with me in the safety of her private room, so she escorts me there. Inside, her room looks way nicer and tidy like all other nobles. I then pop a potently awkward request and she denied politely, indicating I had not known her well yet still. When she asked a question about why I was called Lucian in the first place, I said to her it was a moniker for "light dreamer", the kind of a person I am now with a struggling ability to dream in general and supposedly to bring forth light to the world. Right after that, the scene then ends before it goes even further and I finally found myself up and out of bed.
Geez, what a crazy night I had with no idea how it came to me. >.<
I dreamed the other night that Embodiment of Scarlet Devil had a hitbox dot like all the later Touhou games do. I guess you could call it wishful thinking!
It's normal to dream about video games if you're playing them a lot, but I've only been playing this one for about a week. I guess it might be a sign that my obsession is developing!
Had an ecchi dream.
Dreamed about having a nice giantess maid. It was a great dream, can't remember most of it, but the last thing I remember is that she was following me while pouring drinks lol.

Deja-vu is a very common occurrence where the most interesting and obscure memories playing back in our heads a lot comes to fruition most of the time.
E.g. if you had a very bad/good moment at some point in life or you had an obsession with a certain song, show, game, or character, it definitely will stick with you for a very long time.
