Do you hide your "power level?"

I like to keep everything discrete (not just anime). I just prefer to be unreadable so people can't assume what I'm into unless they try to get to know me.

I agree with this ^

Welcome to the forum, qt.  You should make an introduction thread <3

I'm only open with people I at least somewhat know.

Really digging your wallet.

Big reason I'm gunning for a decent career in programming is so I can as many little trinkets like that as I want. Animu merch doesn't come cheap, especially the imported stuff.

It was a bit pricey, 15$ - usd, but its nicely stitched its about 1 1/2 - 2 years old now and still intact. I got that on a cooks pay! But there is a secret to being a cook, you dont have to buy food.

I never hide my power level!  These are the anime shirts I was talking about (more than I realized.) I proudly wear them in public!  I display my power level as a badge of honor! If someone dare confront me, I throw my wine glass to the ground and shout, "Man ill-needs a savior such as you! Come at me! COME AT ME!!!!"  gets dragged away by security

Sorry the pictures came out so dark and blurry, but you get the point.

Makin' me envious man.

I always hide my power level. Not sure if I said earlier, but I don't like to really talk to anyone in public if I don't already know them.

I suppose I hide my power level both at home and in public, but I'm doing much less of the former as my figure collection has grown, I'll soon be framing two posters, and my family know I cross-played at a local con recently.

As for in public, I don't really talk to people I don't know unless I'm in a situation which makes it ok, like in the airport or other waiting situations. I don't think I would bring up anime in that case, even if he brought it up first.

Meh Im partially closeted, i dont have very much actual anime stuff but if people see my phone screen and ask what it is I'm willing to tell them.

If somebody asks me specifically about anime I'll tell them I watch it but I don't mention it unless they bring it up. To people that aren't my close friends, I'll only ever refer to them as 'shows' now anime. I guess I don't really mind if people discover my power level as my phone background is an anime picture, however, I still do get embarrassed by it. I guess I just don't want to be associated with other people that openly express that they like anime because a lot of the time they're total weirdos. I mean maybe I would get a small anime related pin for my backpack so that some people would recognize it and be able to start up a conversation but nothing more than that like a shirt or anything.

I'm a closet weeb.

I don't look, dress, talk or just seem like the type that like anime and all. Maybe it's because I'm still new at this and my power level is low. Hope it eventually doesn't corrupt me.

I do talk about anime with weebs that I know and all, just with them. Never really with other people nor close with my friends from the other side.

I don’t hide it. most of my friends watch anime so we occasionally talk about it. However they don’t know I watch any super kawaii comfy stuff and harem shit, it's a little embarrassing.

Let's just say I'm open about it but I don't run around like a mongoloid screaming "o0Oo0o00O0oooO0O0OHHH FUCK YEAH DUDE ANIME IS THE FUCKIN BEST HAHAH IM SUCH A WEEB XDDDDD HAHAHAH", but like 70 percent of the people here that do watch it are like that.

I was thinkin' about this thread last night; this guy pretty much sums it up.

Still, is just 'cause I wanna have an easier time making friends. For some reason, I've noticed that people don't deal too well with eccentricity in their daily lives.

I tend to bring weeb shit up around my nerdy friends. Non-nerdy friends eventually found out I'm in to it. I don't really talk about it unless the topic comes up, like most things, really. I'm not really embarrased about it, I just generally don't tend to talk about myself irl.

I have two friends who I talk about anime with because they are into it as well. Around other people I don't really "hide" it I just never bring it up.

I'm pretty open about it myself, I don't try to hide anything but I try not to talk about it with normies or people who have only seen anime aired on western T.V.

Same with me. I always proud to be an otaku, nerd, geek, or whatever people said. Being true to yourself always the best. That's why I never hide my hobbies.

But I almost never talk about my favorite anime or manga since my preference is kinda weird (they say). I'm an anime fan that most of anime enthusiast will categorize me as an elitist. (even thought I have my own waifu LOL).
I only talk about anime to people like you or others in Lewd.sx.

I have a few anime shirts that I do wear out in public, I have figures that I don't put out if someone comes over. My computer monitors are anime and they are always on. So yeah, I don't really hide.

I'm pretty much the same as @"All In One". I don't tend to bring it up around friends except when it comes up naturally. I have one friend that I like to shoot the shit about the currently airing anime and who's waifu/best girl is shit though. I keep it from my parents though, they would be disappointed in me so I just don't. So i'm just a normal guy that happens to like anime.

Eh, not really. More like I just don't talk about it if it's not relevant to current conversation but that's normal. As for wallpapers and stuff, I used to have anime wallpapers but I changed it to something more normal, not to hide my power level but just cause I prefer how it looks. I'm not really trying to hide or actively show it.
