22 year old reporting in with no driver's license. To be fair I'm not a huge fan of driving, but sometimes next month I'll have it. Sad times.

Don't you have, like, stuff to do? Y'know, family to help, errands to run, maybe even a job to get to? I get it, you might not have your own car, but I'm genuinely perplexed as to how people get by without a license.

Not really. I still live with my parents seeing as I go to school 15 minutes away. Family to help? Typically going with one of my parents. Errands? Not really. No job currently, though I plan on applying hence why I'm getting it soon. I have a state ID, was easier to get than a license at the time.

M8 no offense but your life sounds super-cushy. Ever since I got a license, everyone's wanted a piece of me, especially since I drove a truck. Driving to and fro takes forever; even the local community college is around half an hour away sans traffic.

And here I'd worried I was getting lazy 'cuz I spent a day playing Overwatch... I could stand to make more time for myself, I suppose.

No offense taken whatsoever. My life is super-cushy right now. I'm looking to get my license and a job here relatively soon. Sitting at home playing games n shit just isn't fun anymore. I'm using school as a reason to cut back on playing video games, but that really isn't the case and I know it. So fuck it, might as well get a job even if all it amounts to is me buying random shit off aliexpress lol.

In England, especially being as close to London as I am, I really don't need a car. Public transport can get me pretty much everywhere I would need to go on a regular basis. I don't go out much anyway, but yeah...

That's not very nice of him. I really wish I kept practicing driving over the gap between getting my license (Nov 2014) and getting my car (last Sunday); I'm such a bad driver now.

The idea of driving my own car has never been my thing, especially considering price, the horror of finding a place to park, as well as the risks of theft, vandalism, etc., associated with owning a car depending on where you are. It just sounds like a huge hassle when there's already public transportation, even if it requires paying each time you have to go somewhere and stations don't always efficiently land right next to where you're going.

The only advantage with getting a diver's license in my case is that I can work in jobs that require driving, but that incentive doesn't feel "real" right now even if it might feel so in the future, especially the one where I'll look at my past self as an idiot for not even attempting to learn how to to drive. Call me weird but I've always just hated cars tbh. Disgusting dizzying fumes, traffic congestion, cheap-ass leather seats (except for high-end cars), the possibility of getting pulled over, the way car culture itself can crowd out walking space. Euck.

Yeah! I'm just sooo bad at getting the thing moving from a standstill, especially on hills. The traffic lights around my town aren't any help either; they turn red again after 2s if there's no movement.

We were trying to get my gf's brother a girlfriend but he's been rejected by everyone who we tried setting him up.
He might not be the most handsome or muscular and stuff but he's talented and smart, has a job and he's nice as he can get, but here girls are fucking racists. Is that important if he's korean or not? It's not like "Oh, i won't understand shit here" because he has lived here since he was 5 and to be honest, you won't get any better guys out there. He has two degrees on International Gourmet Cuisine and Programming, a built life with a nice car, a nice place and shit.

I thought I had the internet in the bag, but over the past week or so I've learnt about stuff I'd never even considered before. Just goes to show there's always more to know.
