what distro did you install? the way i got things looking nice was after i started playing around with windows managers as opposed to desktop environments, idk why... i guess its cuz they are more modular.

Still undecided as to what terminal emulator I should use though.

I like rxvt-unicode, but I know a lot of people use st and like it.
You should check out different statusbars, play with ~/.Xresources - I think those are good places to start getting it personalized.
I could pm you some resources on it if you'd like ^_^

I tried rxvt-unicode, but I couldn't get it to work with Powerline fonts!

Well I just went out and tested it. Took the time, takes me 9 minutes with iceskates to work.

Different flavors ofc! Its my 2016 new years resolution to try new teas. Rather than the 6 typical ones I drink in tea time. Wonder how bank feels when they see all the teas I bought >.>
