I've tried a little.
But if you look at my post history, you can see I wasn't ever particularly active in those sections.
What am I doing here? I don't know
I haven't been very active myself since most of what i have to say is better handled in a chat room than over a forum such as this.
Backlash wroteViolets wroteI would like to counteract this anti-drunk talk by saying that I like being drunk. It is fun.
Anti-drunk? Ha-haah, you must be readin' the wrong thread. I can't get drunk, but I reckon I'd neck myself without my pain meds.
Pain meds never sound fun.
Hopefully they don't make you physically sick or anything. I can get drunk quite easily, which is nice. Whenever I buy a liter of alcohol, it last me a few days. I'm not gonna pretend like getting drunk is something everyone should be doing, but it really is fun, and makes really mundane things enjoyable.
It's also extremely situational. I only drink on my off days for work. It's also REALLY bad for your health, especially in the sense of gaining weight. Just drinking by itself can make you pretty chubby, but most people (including me, especially me) need to drink with a chaser, and the only one I enjoy is cherry Coke. So I'm drinking a bunch of soda and a bunch of alcohol at the same time. I've been pretty conscious of it all since I've started drinking more, especially since I don't want to get any chubbiness going on. ;~;

This is very true! Especially not drinking while sad, I learned this the hard way.
COUPLE wrotemalmon wroteDoes anyone know of any good stencil fonts? We gotta put operator IDs on UAVs in the UK now >_<
Edit: I think I've narrowed it down to DIN Schablonierschrift, Stencilia, and Allerta Stencil, in order of preference. Still open to suggestions though~
I like DIN Schablonierschrift because I think it's propotioned better than the other two. Stencilia to me is very stout and weak looking, while I am not a fan of the letters D, E, and F on Allerta Stencil. The branch lines on F and E are too narrow, I feel.
Are you a big fan of the graininess on DIN Schablonierschrift?
What do you mean by graininess? It looks like a sharp font to me
Loko wroteI eat too much. :/
Why do you think that is?

sorry I was looking at the wrong thing, but yea DIN Schablonierschrift is the best one imo
Say goodbye to most normal type speedruns, because some crazy glitch discovered on my favorite game now allows speedrunners of this generation to waste only a tiny amount of their energy supply for a brief 15 to 30 minutes and only done from the very beginning of the game. I might as well sit back and go LOL when they go ultra-fast and lucky. XD
A curious thought occurred to me on my drive home. I've known for a while that Japanese people often use very old/obscure kanji for their names, and for the longest while I reckoned this a tremendous pain. What if, however, instead of having a comprehensive knowledge of these characters, the typical Japanese speaker simply learns how to write the character? It's easy once you get the hang of it; all you need is a meaning, even if it's just the name of your best friend. I further compared this to how the typical English speaker can effortlessly pronounce most modern English first names, yet have very little idea what those names actually mean. "Scarlet" and "Autumn", certainly, but what about dear Ingram and Lambert, Aubrey and Samantha? Even the unassuming "Alice" has a history so obscure, one could spend an entire lifetime tracking it down.
The name Alice is a girl's name of German origin meaning "noble".
Alice was derived from the Old French name Aalis, a diminutive of Adelais that itself came from the Germanic name Adalhaidis. Adalhaidis, from which the name Adelaide is also derived, is composed of the Proto-Germanic elements aþala, meaning “noble,” and haidu, “kind, appearance, type.” Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland popularized the name in modern times.
Languages are so much fun. I wish I had more time to spend learning them.

Yeah... I watch Summoning Salt's mini-documentaries on speedrunning scenes sometimes, and the tricks they pull off for the margins they get are freakin' crazy. Literal milliseconds could mean the difference between victory and anguish.

Do English names like Samantha and Ben have meanings other than being just names though? Generally curious.

I'm pretty sure most names, and all the common ones, have some sort of meaning.
"The name Benjamin is a boy's name of Hebrew origin meaning "son of the right hand. Benjamin is derived from the Hebrew name Binyamin, from the elements ben, meaning “son” and yamin, “right hand.”
A lot of "English" names aren't really English but adapted from other languages. My first name happens to be English, but has it's origins in Gaelic.
Loko wroteForgot to register for classes today
Missed a class I meant to register for the past semester.
Last semester I damn near missed my registration time. I thought it was two days later than it actually was and it was by pure chance that I thought to double check an hour and a half before it happened. Ironically enough the schedule I threw together in a few minutes was both the only time where I got everything I wanted and the one I've been happiest with.

At my uni most people (or at least those I hung out with) were always excited to get class registrations done as soon as the options were released! I don't think anyone was ever refused one of their choices though (except for one time when the computer system wouldn't let me pick two semesters of Japanese), so the only disappointments were with the classes themselves~
