I wish I was a cute girl who could wear these and look good.
Dem Cat Ear Headphones
Posts
I would wear them if they weren't total batshit in the audio department. I would rather get a conversion set and use my studio headphones.
EDIT: I mean, come the fuck on... You click on info and you get "OMG they light up in colorz!" Fuck Axent.
Seen someone with them at my college the other day.
Rip but the ears aren't furry ;(
god i hate these
i dont doubt the actual sound quality is straight garbo either
it would be pretty fucking weird wearing those in public
they look pretty cute tho
Eh the headphones look plastic-y and cheap. Mod some AKG's or something.
Actually bought a pair here.
Design/Finish:
- They aren't that brittle tbh.
- Lights last a lot and they have a rather small head arc. Uncomfpy after an hour.
- The cups aren't as good tho, they got my ears all sweaty after a while.
- They have a "one way cable" so they're prone to snapping/unbalancing. Ears look like they're pasted
- Ears look like they've been pasted in.
Sound: - It's like a ricer car soundsystem, no presence or dynamics on the highs, mids and mid bass, bass overtaking everything. (I tried them with several genres and the only thing that sounded fairly decent was entry level EDM)
- Speakers sound actually better than the headphones themeselves.
Might sell them back, snatch myself a pair of AKGs or TAKSTARs and mod them.
Owned a pair of first wave ones. They were decent external build quality. A bit heavy. Comfy to wear due to heavy padding on the top and the earpads. Sound quality was quite good too, a little heavier on the bass than typical though.
The battery life on the lights wasn't too bad.
The speakers were kind of eh. Not the best not the worst, you know?
The mic was shit. Just refused to work regardless.
If you want to use the mic you need to use one of the all-in-one 3.5mm cables.
Using a splitter did not work.
Most of them from the first few batches were prone to breaking, the lights would stop functioning in one or both of the ears after around a month or so.
Mine had faulty lights from the second week of owning them.
One ear stopped functioning after a month and a half, replacing the cable fixed this for all of another week, but after that no matter how many cables I tried it wouldn't function.
The other ear stopped functioning a week later.
Thankfully I got a full refund, they even paid for the import costs I was charged.
Unless they have made significant improvements to the internal build quality in recent batches, I would not invest in these period.

Gee, it's almost like they were designed as an overpriced fashion accessory for weebs like us! ;p

I mean the overall quality was good. If they weren't so faulty and they fixed the mic it'd be well worth the money in my honest opinion.
A touch overpriced sure, but not excessively so.

I mean, what i look for in a pair of headphones is that they sound decent, if the sound is decent i wouldn't mind them having a sign on top saying "Hey look, i'm a retard".
Like I said, the sound quality was pretty good. I don't think it was $100 good but I'd say they're pretty still relatively good.
The build quality was just garbage.
You could do a MUCH better investment if you:
1.- Snatch these (less than $50)
2.- Buy some materials to make cat ears, leds to put on 'em and some sort of battery placeholder ($15 if we exaggerate)
3.- Get on the street with a look that "Hey i'm a weeb but at least i'm not stupid"
What about the speakers? Use your phone's. The cat ears don't even sound loud enough to be called speakers.

I think you would look even more stupid wearing custom built cat ear headphones tbh.
I dunno, I think it'd be pretty cool. Then again, I'm more of a DIY-kinda guy

If you manange to make them cool-looking, they COULD look good (only if you're gonna lock yourself in a con for the next days)
They don't look that comfortable s:
Plus it would probably suck wearing them while it's really hot

Fair enough, I dont really know anything about making headphones and if you are willing to put the time in to make them good I cant fault you there. Still I think they are more fashion accessories than really practical headphones, so most of the people who are buying them dont have the knowledge or time to put in to make their own.
Tbh I used to think that headphones made you people look like pretentious, douchebag hipsters (why cant they use earbuds like everyone else does?), but now I see headphones everywhere and Im still here with my shitty Koss earbuds so I guess im the pretentious hipster now.
