Sub v. Dub

Posts

Haaah~... I love Lucoa in this dub. She's like the perfect blend off "Big Sis" and "Sugar Momma", with a tinge of southern drawl overall. I hope I can sound like her someday. ^~^

Only dubs I can watch are Welcome the the NHK and Clannad. Those are some damn good dubs though.

Yup, no, I still can't listen to dubs >_<

I used to be strictly sub-only but I can appreciate quality dubs.
I'm still sub-first for shows that just take place in Japan, fantasy and whatever I'll look into dubs if they're good.

Dub all the way. I want to see the art not read the screen

I watch subbed 95% of the time. Most dubs feel cheesy and I swear there are only like five voice actors doing English anime dubs now. That last part is funny though, because I like watching an anime in Japanese, recognizing a voice actor, and racking my brain trying to remember where I heard their voice before.
Spice and Wolf, Redline, and Panty and Stocking are the notable exceptions for me. I get this strange nostalgic feeling from Spice and Wolf's art (mainly the backgrounds) that makes me connect it with childhood cartoons. That's probably why I like it in English.

dubbed voices always make anime sound way more cartoony

I'm a definite subber, but I can see the appeal in dubs as well, cause as a kid, I watched the english naruto dub and never even knew about the subbed one.
Thinking back I think the dub for it was pretty good.
I just like to hear the japanese, it sounds cool to hear another language.
