Went ahead and saw Kimi no na wa in the theater a few days ago. It was well worth the wait, I'll say that much.

Finished up the last of Aoi Bungaku. I thought the idea of adapting classical literature to anime was interesting but some definitely worked better than others.

 -
my favorite one was the adaptation of dazai osamu's ningen shikkaku - which happens to be one of my favorite novels too (he's a sort of japanese dostoevskij), so maybe I'm a little biased-.

btw I'm watching the second season of shingeki no kyojin - so far neither bad nor exceedingly good- and natsume yuujinchou roku. and in the last few days I watched the psycho pass movie - not as good as the series, but still enjoyable- and shelter - nice concept but they could have developed it better instead of just making a music video-

Diamond no ace, Lord Marksman and Vanadis, tower of druaga.

I watched magnetic rose, the first short story of memories. it's nothing short of a masterpiece, and if you're familiar with the animation gems of satoshi kon, you can almost immediately feel his fingerprints all over it: there's the leitmotiv of the blurred mixture of fantasy and reality, visual virtuosity and the themes of loss and nostalgia. It's quite similar to a space age millennium actress with horror chills added to it. best sci-fi movie I've seen in quite a while

Watched a few episodes of Lucky Star in a stream. I might watch the rest of it sometime.

There was some silly sci-fi OVA I watched recently called Nora from 1985. Not overtly bad but not good either. Kinda boring overall. I'd recommend it if it were shorter as Nora herself is quite cute and animated.

Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

Me too! Just finished S1 today.

Before that I watched FLCL which was good but would have hit me much harder if I watched it when it came out. Then Gantz which started out really cool but became a bad case of diminishing returns. I know the anime diverges significantly from the manga near the end though.

Mad Bull 34. Not only the greatest homage to buddy cop movies ever made but possibly the best buddy cop media that has been or ever will be made.

Welcome to the Ballrom and Shokugeki no Soma.

I think Welcome to the Ballroom is finished airing so I should probably get on finishing that over winter break.

Fianlly decided to start watching Monster, and I haven't watched that much in one day in a while. I'm worried the quailty isn't going to hold up over 74 episodes though.
