Boss Battle #9 - LucianDreamer vs. Inkjet Printer [CLOSED]

Posts

I look around taking in our new surroundings. I can't help but think to myself that my opponent is stronger than she looks, this has to be her power.
I start running towards my opponent, sword drawn ready to strike. As I get closer I can tell she's ready for my attack, without a second guess I dash behind my opponent a good few feet.
My opponent strikes at my after image, as she watches it dissipate horror strikes her face as she quickly turns around.
"Goken!" A slice at the ground causing 5 long, glowing cuts to appear. The earth beneath my opponent's feet begins to shake and quake. Before she's able to move to safe ground the earth shoots high into the air, taking my opponent with it.
Using the same technique I did before, I dash up to my opponent and land a small strike on her side. Using the large chunks of earth I navigate my way to the ground, unfortunatelly for my opponent she plummets and lands with a thud.

Lucia's HP: 17.5%
Seel's HP: 25%

Lucia is badly wounded, she can't take much more and her defenses are critical. A few more blocked hits will send her reeling.
Lucia: "This isn't... the end... of me. I must... end this... now!" She checks herself seeing large gashes all over her clothing and thought that she is indeed bleeding, but it won't be long before the poison inside her body converts used energy for partial HP restoration.
Lucia uses up 25% of her charge meter to restore a quarter of her max health, but this is as far as healing magic can go, because there are still major wounds on her body.
Lucia: "I got poison on my side, it never hurts me, but it will hurt you."
Lucia coats her weapon in poison (showing dark green dripping onto the cobblestone) to see if she can catch her opponent off. As she can't guard no more, she goes on the offensive to slice her legs, greatly affecting her opponent's movement. She keeps pressing the attack, delivering more of the poison to affect more areas of the body.

Lucia's HP: 42.5%
Seel's HP: 5%

4 days later

My grasp on my sword has grown weak, my body aches and my focus is shattered.
While looking upon my sword I say "I believe this is the end old friend. I'm sorry I let you down."
I straighten up and look at my opponent. "You are an impeccable fighter. You're strong and true as you fight and I admire that. Perhaps we could've been friends."
Swiftly I bring my sword alongside my neck. "Perhaps not." In one fell slice I cut a deep gash into my neck.
As my body lays lifeless on the ground, the faint glow of my sword flickers before finally glowing no more, as if the life in it has been lost as well.

Lucia's HP: 42.5%
Seel's HP: 0%

OOC: Sorry for being so late. The past few weeks have been a nightmare with exams and projects being due.

3 months later

It looks like we are nearing the end of the first half, with a 7-win streak, the only opponent that can stop such a streak is none other than Misaka Mikoto.
In this halftime battle, the stage will be set to Academy City with dynamic weather on.

I decided not to use my current avatar for this battle, but rather come up with a team of four versus 20,000. While this may seem unfair, each clone represents a small fraction of Misaka's total health. When it is down to the last one standing, she will be left with only 10,000 HP, meaning a boss battle that size is worth a substantial 2 million, only two-thirds the strength of Walpurgisnacht.

Location: Academy City, Japan
Time of Day: 11:00 (11:00)
Forecast: Some clouds, warm, moderate wind, no precipitation
Difficulty: Legendary

Battle won't start until Sunday morning at lunchtime.

Sunday's battle theme:

OOC: The half-time battle won't start until Sunday morning. Usuki (cannoneer), Nagashino (gunner), Fukashi (archer), and Juraku (spearwoman) will face Misaka and her clone army on the city limits. The placements of Misaka and her clones will be on the far side of the stage to give ample time for my team to be ready.

The left side of each avatar of mine has a health bar, and the right side is their magic based on their eye color. If one runs out of magic, their soul gem shatters and is considered K.O. from wasting magical energy. Pools of magical energy can be used to restore my teammates' health and magic from the various hot springs, wiping out every thousand as a team, and magic leeching abilities.

Note: If I take too long to defeat her, she will grow in power overtime, making herself more dangerous until reaching a point where she can wipe out everyone and the city itself, so although there is no time limit, she is a ticking time bomb.

My team is here:

OOC: Your goal during your turns is to wipe out my team using your avatar's abilities; I placed you far away from my team so that I can prepare myself for opening attacks. It is much easier for you to kill off my team by going for their weak spots (the gem accessory that is attached to them) as it deals twice as much damage than everywhere else, since they are very durable. Not going for the weak spots only results in scratch damage.

I assume your avatar is an Electromaster. You have a huge health pool in this battle, due to a clone army.

It is turn-based, so my Usuki goes first, Nagashino goes second, Fukashi goes third, and Juraku goes last in order of range. Usuki the team's leader prefers firing cannons at you from long range; Nagashino will use her minigun to mow you down, and if she is close enough, will try to bash you away. Fukashi as a support unit will rain down arrows of various elements from medium range, moves back if getting too close, and lastly, Juraku as a tanker unit will do head-on rushes and tries to smack you with her spear. Once all of my teammates make their moves, my turn will end and it is your turn.

You are allowed use asterisks or use the > key without spaces to make the text purple. For making moves, up to no more than five actions can be made per turn to avoid overpowering.

Protip: Your objective isn't to win or have the best writing, but to enjoy yourself, and do your best to make sure your partner does too. :3

Speakin' from experience, I'd reckon that applies to a lotta things in life. Y'all have a good time now, 'kay?

OOC: Poll results from the halftime voting thread indicate I will rebalance Misaka's attack power potential and health. The maximum damage output she can do is upwards to 999 points; her starting health will be set to 2 million instead of 200 million. The dispute has now ended and the battle will start on Sunday.

Description of Misaka:

>She’s a Tier 7-A when the battle starts, but taking too long to defeat her regardless of whether the match is balanced or not, she will become more powerful as time passes because she’s a test subject to become a Level 6, an Esper powerful enough to cause total destruction. A tactical genius in everything she can do, yet her short temper can leave behind brief openings. Electrical, magnetic, and bioelectrical attacks are useless. Any advanced technological weaponry, gadgetry or attempts to control the weather against her are also fruitless.

She undergoes three forms: The initial form at 2% power allows her to create extremely strong lightning over a large area, at around 25% power; she goes into her first true form carrying all her attacks plus her ribbons. At 50% power, she goes into her second true form, which allows her to create a black sphere, inheriting her previous attacks as before, but much stronger. Finally, at 100% power, by the time reaching a Level 6, she might just as well auto-K.O. herself with a huge bang with everyone in it in an island-wide radius.
OOC: In short, she would achieve the rank of SYSTEM, but because of the instability from reaching a level that high, and unable to control her powers that further, she definitely auto K.O. herself.

OOC: The halftime battle is ready. I will go first, but I have to do the opening narration.

>It is a clear, bright Sunday, on the outskirts of the Academy City metropolitan area, Usuki, Nagashino, Fukashi, and Juraku are on a walk together towards the city limits in one of the large parks discussing random topics regarding the city itself, not to mention anyone that lives there. Fukashi brought herself an umbrella to keep the sun's UV rays out, but the UV rays are too strong for her and she asks Usuki, the team's leader to find the nearest shade for a while.

>A picnicking day only meant for the summer days is unusual for them, no one else join the four during the whole time, and they have no idea where they are within the sprawling metropolis, with the Space Elevator in the far distance. Shortly after a quick lunch break is over, they can hear footsteps from over a few kilometers away, many steps in unison by the dozens. The team tries to hurry along into the city to alert the townspeople something is coming, but it turns out it is a setup ambush by a huge army of students, all of them female from one school.

>The team of four is now trapped, going nowhere; fortunately, the battle system is turn-based. It is very unlikely they will make it due to their sheer size.

Turn 1

>Usuki's cannon will most likely hit the trees or the city's buildings by accident, so she can't do it on her first turn, and decides to pass along to Nagashino.
Usuki: "Ugggh, there is just way too many, my cannon are ready, but I am more of the safe type. Nagashino, leg them up with your minigun if you can!"
Nagashino: "I have them, captain." pulls out minigun and aims at the first group in front of her "EAT THIS!"

>Nagashino revs the gun into full gear, unleashing a torrent of bullets with HE (high-explosive) incendiary properties in a 120-degree arc from right to left. She continues firing it until her entire first clip is out, inflicting as much as 830 damage, or 8 clones fatally wounded and injured a ninth.

Nagashino: "Heheh, this is just getting started! Reloading now!"
Fukashi: "Ok, time to light up my bow and give them a taste of my bad breath."

>As Nagashino reloads her clip and returns to stationary position, Fukashi's longbow is fitted with transfusion, or health-leeching arrows, she loads as many as six of them, aims at a 45-degree angle and fires. The wind turbulence makes the arrows curve a bit to the left and lands on four clones, killing them instantly for 400 damage, but her two arrows hit the ground, doing nothing.

Fukashi: "That was totally unexpected, but I hit something." 😃
Juraku: "All right, stand back, I am going for the first charge to our east! Prepare to get creamed!"

>Her appearance is only for show, but she can kick butt equally with her long spear. Juraku turns to her right, charges up her spear and begins to run at super speed facing a dozen or so clones in front of her before commencing a 180-degree sweep onto some trees. She then lifts her spear held high and performs a dizzying spin attack to cut down even more trees around another two dozen. When her first berserk run ends, she returns to position feeling a bit magically tired. She killed eight total and severely injured fourteen though, totaling 1,135 damage with diminishing returns from the damage cap.

Juraku: "I won't be ready for another charge run until a bit later, whoa." she is still a bit dizzy
Fukashi: "There there, we will survive through it."
Usuki: "Get ready; they are about to do something, prepare ourselves!"

>Total damage on first turn for Team Usuki is 2,365 points. 400 points of magic are used up. The transfusion arrows helped Fukashi gain 400 health above her starting health of 600. Team Usuki now have 6,750 health.
>Team Misaka's total health is down to 1,997,635. 20 clones are lost out of 20,000.
>Here comes Misaka Mikoto.

>Somewhat bewildered, the sisters break their stroll and begin muttering amongst themselves

"Those girls appear to be attacking us, MISAKA says"
"How inconsiderate, MISAKA replies"
"What should we do about this, MISAKA asks"
"I don't think such a reckless group would be worth talking to, MISAKA pondered"

>4 of the sisters set themselves up in buildings with Metal Eater MX AT rifles. They are currently hidden from view.
>The front line of MISAKAs ready up their goggles and Toy Soldiers (Modified F2000R)

"That one there. She looks tired"

>A torrent of bullets flies towards Juraku. At such a distance, MISAKAs' accuracy is reduced to 15%. 20 MISAKAs fired an entire magazine - 400 bullets.
>60 hit Juraku for 180 HP
>5 strays hit Fukashi for 15 HP

====================================

>Mikoto loses 1 HP kicking a can of juice out of a vending machine
>Mikoto notices a rumbling in the distance

Mikoto: "What's going on this time? Oh well, I'm sure Kuruko will take care of it. I hope it's not those nuns again."

"How long do you think this'll take, MISAKA enquires"
"I don't know, MISAKA replies. Let's see what plans they have, MISAKA suggests"

>A sister from the front of the pack gives a big wave
>The MISAKA network questions its decision-making skills
>The sisters charge themselves up - any melee attack against them will return 1 HP of damage, 5 if the weapon is conductive.

"Ow, MISAKA exclaims"
"Sorry, MISAKA apologises"

>8 sisters take 10 HP of damage due to a clumsy MISAKA.

I hope I didn't misunderstand something >.<

>Juraku would have deflected these bullets with her spear, but as a tanker unit, she has to absorb as much damage as possible. Fukashi is lucky she was not anywhere close to them; otherwise, she would have lost her bow. Usuki speaks to Juraku in a hushed voice.

Usuki: whisper "Juraku, make haste when you're ready again, but this time on the snipers to draw their fire."
Juraku: whisper "I bet you two would break the silence with your big guns."
Usuki: whisper "Just focus on the sisters, the real one won't come in a while from now. If you by chance you get hurt Juraku, seek the nearby hot spring or Fukashi for healing."
Juraku: silently nods

====================================

Turn 2

>Usuki begins to load up the cannonballs onto her massive cannon. Outdated, and requires skill. Fortunately, she is skilled at it. She waits for the wind to change slightly in her favor for a few seconds, and then begins to light up the five-second fuse.

Usuki: "Light the fuse, this is going to get hot! Fire!"

>A medium-sized cannonball hurls at a 55-degree angle before landing on twelve Sisters, sending them flying to their deaths. As powerful as her cannon can get, it draws her attention to them. The standard cannonball doesn't have any magical properties, so she is not wasting magic.

Usuki: "Looks like I made them mad, I did well."
Nagashino: "Let's make some noise!"

>Nagashino spins around with her gun at a 90-degree angle and with a smile drops caltrops from her pocket on a major road to slow them, it won't kill, but it stings if stepped on. Nagashino wastes 25 magic.
>Fukashi's magic naturally regenerates by 50, and she fires standard arrows into a group of three at a low angle spread, injuring them for 50 damage each.
>Juraku recovers, and she is able to spin her spear to deflect bullets back where she was hit from, using no magic. Sustained injuries are major in an act of revenge, dealing 50 each to the frontline row.

>Usuki dealt fatal damage to 12 sisters, equal to 1,200 damage.
>Nagashino used up 25 magic, no damage, no kills.
>Fukashi recovers 50 magic and dealt 150 damage, no kills.
>Juraku dealt as much as 50 damage on 12 sisters, equaling 600 damage, no kills.

>Team Usuki dealt 1,950 damage total this turn.
>Team Misaka (Sisters) are down from 1,997,555 to 1,995,605. Another 12 sisters are gone, making it 32 out of 20,000.

malmon wrote

Mikoto: "What's going on this time? Oh well, I'm sure Kuruko will take care of it. I hope it's not those nuns again."

OOC: They are castle girls, or ShiroMusu from ShiroColle, the Sengoku Jidai clone version of KanColle where girls are built as castles to do battle against Kabuto to protect their Lord, or Tono.

"Looks like they don't want to go down easily, MISAKA points out"
"Why do you think they're doing this, MISAKA wonders"
"They must be jealous of our good looks, MISAKA proclaims confidently"

>The sisters all agree in unison

>The sisters begin running towards Team Usuki, slowly covering their flanks
"Ow, watch out, MISAKA warns, as she lifts her knee, observing her bleeding foot"
>20 sisters are injured by the caltrops for 10 HP each
>4 of the sisters decide to pick up and carry the caltrops
>1 sister picks up and, with deadpan frustration, throws a caltrop back towards Usuki, landing somewhere between Usuki's feet and her cannon with a splash of shock damage. Usuki loses 25 HP, leaving her a bit shakey for a few seconds. Her cannon gets slightly charred on the surface (cosmetic damage).
>The sisters' pace is reduced as they pay more attention to their steps

>The 4 sisters currently set up as snipers have finished loading, and begin choosing their respective targets
"I'll go for the blonde, MISAKA decides"
"Why don't we go for that cannon, MISAKA asks"
"It's quite a nice cannon, it would be a shame to destroy it, MISAKA answers, let's just see how this plays out for the time being, MISAKA adds"

====================================

>Mikoto notices strange EM field patters in the distance
"Are they hosting a concert or something? Eh, I have time, may as well see what's going on."
>Mikoto casually strolls towards the distant racket
>Mikoto's foot stops hurting (+1 HP)

>Team Usuki is backing up some meters because it appears they're getting closer. Usuki turns her cannon around to catch up with her teammates as she struggles to get one of Nagashino's caltrops off. Once she gets it off, she is able to lift it up and within a minute or so she caught up with her team in time for the sniper fire to go off where they previously stood.
>4 shots, from very long range and out of nowhere at 3,070 KPH nearly hit the team, had it land on one of the weak points, things could get a lot worse in an instant. At that moment, Usuki slides over to a tree, Nagashino in the prone position, Fukashi crouches, and Juraku holds her spear tightly to stand her ground. They can hear it very loud from far away.
>As usual, Fukashi regains another 50 MP, Juraku's spear was hit by the sniper bullet, receiving some cosmetic damage to the front end. The other three bullets made near misses. She only takes scratch damage of 1.

>Fukashi's eyes widen at Juraku's exceptional skill with her weapon.

Fukashi: "H-how did you just do that?"
Juraku: "Planting my feet, gripping, and then spinning it as quickly as I can."
Usuki: "This cannon of mine may be old, but it can take more of that. Industrial-era grade like this just never die." she speaks to herself

=================
Turn 3

>Usuki and the team then return to their position, albeit some steps further away from the approaching frontline row of Sisters. Now that they are aware of Nagashino's use of caltrops, a new stratagem will have to be implemented. Usuki then gives the new orders.

Usuki: "They don't look tough individually, but in numbers, sheesh, they can be devastating if they're lucky."
Nagashino: sighs "I might have something they won't even know what is coming."
Usuki: "What is it you have in mind?"
Nagashino: "I will power up your cannon with something more explosive."
Usuki: "Smart idea, I can use that technique."
Fukashi: "I'm switching to fire arrows, they'll definitely burn."

>Usuki tries putting two cannonballs together; this is as much as her cannon can fit in. She lights it up again with her torch facing the frontline row.

Usuki: "FIRE!"

>The double cannonball attack results in a much larger cannonball, hurling at a 35-degree angle with enough force to cause a large crater and a small explosion, killing off the entire row, and severely injure 25 more.
>Nagashino then helps Usuki finish off the straggling wounded with her minigun with ease before turning towards another row to her right and mercilessly mows it down within her second clip.

Nagashino: "You like that, huh? You LIKE that!?" she taunts the Sisters she just killed

>Fukashi unleashes a fire arrow into the distance to start a brisk fire around the back row full of Sisters.
>Juraku decides to wait out a turn.

>Usuki capped out her damage from her cannon, 3,200. She uses up 50 MP.
>Nagashino capped out her damage as well from her minigun, 1,175.
>Fukashi's fire arrow causes her to lose 75 MP, the area of effect (AoE) attack is moderate, 100 damage on impact to three Sisters.

>Team Usuki dealt 4,675 damage, but lost only 1 HP this turn.
>Team Misaka lost 48 more Sisters, totaling 80, and their health goes down from 1,995,405 to 1,990,730.

OOC: Apologies for the late reply - I was rather busy yesterday

"This isn't good, MISAKA says"
"We were meant to have ice cream later today, MISAKA sulks"
"We'll pay them back, MISAKA reassures"

"Damn, they moved, MISAKA points out"

>Sniper sisters reposition their aim

"Why do they keep running, MISAKA wonders"
"Do you think we could just avoid this if we ran away, MISAKA adds"
"I dunno, those weapons aren't the sort one would bring with them on a casual stroll, MISAKA states. They were looking for a fight, MISAKA concludes"

>The front two rows of sisters run up closer to Team Usuki
>The front row crouches down
>Both rows begin firing at Fukashi and Juraku
>Being a little closer than before, their accuracy is increased to 20%.
>40 MISAKAS fire most of a magazine each - 346 bullets
>39 hit Juraku for 117 HP
>30 hit Fukashi for 90 HP
>1 ricochets off of Usuki's tree, startling her a bit

"...aaaaaand there, MISAKA whispers to herself"

>The building shakes as MISAKA fires off her Metal Eater
>MISAKA did not take the appropriate precautions for dealing with recoil. She loses 10 HP.
>The bullet hits a wheel of Usuki's cannon, blowing out a spoke and a small segment of the rim, and kicking up a load of dust
>The cannon is still mobile, but may be a little tricky to move in a perfectly straight

====================================

>Mikoto sprints up to a gatcha pod dispenser, and pants
"L-l-limited edition Ruby Gekota!"
>Mikoto spends the next turn putting coins into the machine in the hopes of winning a ruby one
