[CLOSED] Walpurgisnacht Event

Posts

>Bellona appears next to @[deleted] . Calmly watching as All in One and the airmen take off.
>Once they are gone she turns to Lucia.
"I'll direct my men towards fighting off the familiars and defending what remains of the city. They won't be able to get close enough to help with Walpurgisnacht. It seems only magic can harm them so we should be fine against the familiars. You and the others need to focus on taking that thing down.
>She says, gesturing towards Walpurgisnacht.
"Now, unless you've a specific task in mind for myself, I shall go and fight with my troops."

>Bellona and all her men goes back to fighting the remaining familiars, but it turns out those uber familiars are just as strong as them not by numbers, but by sheer strength and durability, their magical weaponry penetrated through the majority of her men
>She then presses onward, absorbing the damage received from them, but in the end after some minutes of fighting, she was overrun by a few smart Abyssals and was cut down, she fought honorably to her last breath
>At that moment afterward, the surviving men withdrew from battle, fleeing back into the hill they came only to be blown away or burnt by the witch
>The city continues being bombarded with missile fire and magic from distant war boats that the party didn’t taken out from earlier, its durability reaching at a critical minimum of 10%.
>The only buildings left standing are now Lover’s Leap, the town hall with a few houses to the north; a college, a hospital, and the country club to the northeast are all what is left. If those last few structures are destroyed, the battle will be lost.
"It's very disappointing to see an honorable warrior goddess go, but we have to keep on fighting, anyway." A thought came to LucianDreamer, as she's still pondering what her final move would be.

Flying a handful of meters beside the bubble, the lieutenant tapped her faceplate to key the comm with her flight. Her words were relayed to their passengers via a small speaker that manifested in the middle of the platform.

"Alright team, we're comin' up on the eye wall. Full afterburners; insertion angle three degrees. We're about to go blind, so keep an eye on those instruments. Do not; I repeat, do not alter pitch or elevation till we're in the eye of the storm, understood?"

Their acknowledgements resounded over the comm.

"Here goes nothin'..."

As the turbulence outside approached its peak, the conditions inside the bubble began to follow suit. Lightning pelted them relentlessly. Hundreds of innocuous objects - ranging from bricks to splinters to even individual stalks of wheat - became deadly missiles as they entered the eye wall.
What happened in those next few moments is somewhat unclear. The platform seemed to buckle beneath them, before rising to its original height in an instant. Had they been present, a casual occupant might've likened it to being trapped in a giant pinball machine. Save the shadows of rain and debris impacting the bubble, the only things visible were the faint verdant glows of the airmens' visors.

And within an instant, the turbulence vanished. The lieutenant's voice was heard on the comm.

"What on earth..."

When everyone had come to, they found themselves in a tight circular arena of swirling clouds and debris. It was very calm, almost silent. At the top of the funnel was a thin layer of clouds obscuring the open sky, and at the bottom, a spectacle of utter violence as the tornado ripped apart a railyard, tracks and all.
Unfortunately for the airmen and company, the witch turned out to be quite circumspect.
She did a double-take when the flight entered the corner of her vision. For a moment, both parties shared a dreadful surprise.
Yet their enemy was quick to act. She whirled about, protecting her weak point (the small of her back) from view, whilst simultaneously summoning the arsenal captured from the airmen early on in the fight.

"Ahh, lieutenant?" said one of the airmen over the comm, "I'm readin' multiple spikes from the bogey."

Kirino's blood ran cold. "Aw hell- Incoming missiles! Evade, evade!"

Within a second, the protected platform split in half between the two pairs of airmen. Within a few more, the entire arena was transformed into a shower of bright blue flares and glimmering chaff.
At one point, an errant burst of aethercannon fire severed the link between @All in One 's caretakers. Just as all seemed lost however, one of them swooped in from above. He caught the girl with one hand on her back, the other behind her knees.
As luck would have it, it was that same puckish young lad; same firey hair; same charmingly vulgar accent. And though they couldn't see past that vermilion steel faceplate, one could be certain he was grinning underneath.

"Fallin' for someone else, love? What a heartbreaker."

LucianDreamer comes up her final move to immobilize the witch no other magical girl had ever came up before. Kyoko and Sayaka agree to this amiably, they run up the platforms that are still there to catch up with the other two, getting ready to brace themselves, not taking any second chances
LucianDreamer heard the airmen, Madoka and All in One already engaging the witch in the distance, and the remaining members of the Holy Quintet came to their aid amid the storm
They're at the mercy of the source after a few minutes of navigating, but nevertheless, they regroup, and are ready for their final move
"No time to waste our precious energy; let's disable this monster on my mark! 1... 2... 3!"
The Lieutenant and all of her remaining airmen launch their full potential on the witch’s core, dealing massive damage to it whilst evading her counters from minimum safe distance
Kyoko and Sayaka leapt up into the witch, clinging her in place, and then launch attacks to cut down her wings, after that, they then disable the cogs one by one. Though it took them a minute, they safely freefall back onto a platform with the rest of the team
Alistair lands some deadly punches and kicks to the witch’s heart, making her dazed for a moment
All in One throws her contraption dead center into the witch's mouth just as she was about to launch her fire breath, but then she cancels said attack, eats the contraption, and with the press of a button, an explosion occurs that can be heard up to a few kilometers away
Madoka and LucianDreamer charge up their strongest attack once more, this time with maximum potency at a greater cost to their MP. Both of their attacks landed a direct hit.
LucianDreamer then sheathes her rifle, and makes the killing blow by pulling out her katana and finishes off the witch with a few big strikes, followed by a single grapple with her hands on her face and hits her squarely between her eyes. She then pulls out her katana again and performs a finisher move by thrusting forward into her heart, pulls it away from it, and kicked the witch upwards into the heavens
The witch starts to moan, and then she let out a final, agonizing scream, as she begins deflating out of control before finally disappearing in a bright flash of light, the storm is slowly moving away from the city, though not without great cost, estimating to be at over 1-2 billion of today’s U.S. dollars.
No civilian casualties were reported thanks to the city mayor’s evacuation order well laid out in advance
A lot of MP has expended, estimates vary in the ten-thousand range, and the amount of damage done is far greater than the witch’s remaining HP
Walpurgisnacht's HP has depleted to zero.

“Is… is it really over, then? Did we finally defeat Walpurgisnacht?” asks Madoka

"Nice to see you too."

>Behind All in One's usual stone-faced composure was a raging tempest of fear, many multitudes more severe than what was experienced as the bridge collapsed
"Be calm, be calm. Just a little more and it'll all be over. I must not fear. Fear is the mind killer."
>Her savior picked up on what looked to him like a thousand-yard stare on the child
>Lord knows he'd seen it enough on others during his enlistment to recognize it on a whim
"You okay there, love? You look a mite preoccupied."
>The question is enough to snap her back to reality, her emotions are pushed back from the forefront of her mind
"Y-yes, I'm fine. I was just thinking is all."
>She looked around them at all the debris flying around and the others swerving and swooping madly to avoid them
>The witch was looking up at them, smirking at them almost, as if it took pleasure from the knowledge that it might be able to demolish what was left of the town before it was killed for surely the witch must realize that death has set its sight upon it
>All in One wasn't going to let it have that satisfaction, no siree
"Anyway, sir, how close do you think you can fly to the small of the back?"

>The howling winds wane and then dissipate all together
>Like a switch had been suddenly pressed the storm clouds start drifting away, losing form
>The eye wall collapses as the eye itself drastically expands
>The skies clear
>Debris falls all over
>After a few minutes there is relative silence, for the first time in hours
>The Potomac now runs gently through the city, its quiet trickling one of the only sounds heard
>The town lays in ruin, save for a few buildings here and there
>All in One and the airmen have a bird's eye view of the witch's destruction as they make a light descent to the ground
>They land where all the other survivors have congregated, near the town square
>At a smashed fountain in front of the town hall is a faint, black shimmer
>All in One approaches it and picks out a small, black oblong object with needles sticking out at the poles
"So that's it then. A done deal. It's finally over with."
>She slinks down against the fountain, relaxing for the first time since... She really didn't have an idea of how long it had been
>Her long journey was at an end, at long last

>The time of day reaches 11AM from the town hall, meaning that it took the entire party three hours to defeat the witch, but they finally done it.
>The town hall's bell begins to chime and the city siren stops blaring, signaling an end to the danger.
>The National Weather Service removed the affected county's warning, allowing citizens to return for rebuilding. It may take a few years; such a battle of that magnitude won't ever happen again.
>All canon events of the anime (from meeting Madoka to the battle of Walpurgisnacht) went very well in All in One's favor, for the first and last time.
>All in One's time shield, after 100 timelines, has ran out and can no longer be used, she no longer needs it anymore
>The other four magical girls (LucianDreamer, Madoka, Kyoko, and Sayaka) also resign their duties as Puella Magi with the mayor, returning to their normal forms and embrace each other in a circle.
"All right, girls. Let's get back to Mitakihara. The city mayor lets us all go. Thank you for saving this city and all of us everyone! We appreciate it!" says Madoka, for the first time feeling happier now that all witches from this world are defeated.
"Lieutenant Kousaka, sound off. My friends and I are heading back to Japan to return to our normal lives, as if nothing this bad ever happened. A private jet ride would be nice." LucianDreamer says, bidding her adieu as she's about to leave the country.
>The Lieutenant agrees, all five former magical girls, ecstatic with their epic victory, gets onboard the jet and sets course heading west for Mitakihara out of the country and across the ocean within 12 hours.

And with that, the battle and the aftermath scene is now over.
Runtime: 3 hours, 26 minutes
Scene Creation: 8 IRL days (4/30/2017 to 5/7/2017)
Some budget cuts, time constraints, and a bit of procrastination prevented the animation team from making this one epic movie. This means half of the other participants didn't show up as compensation. In the end, they finally did it.
@[deleted] will come and make her account of the battle after a short while. Thanks for participating, guys! <3!

This was fun.
Sad I was killed though ;o;
It's ok though. I am a goddess after all, I shall return to my corporeal form after a few days.

Man, that was awesome! It was tough yeh, and I mighta struggled to keep up sometimes, but in retrospect I'm super-happy I opted into this event. I haven't had this much fun writing in months! 😃

@[deleted]: I'll try to write that blog post tomorrow morning, but I've got two big finals comin' up on me Wednesday, and I really hafta study. B'sides, I'd say ya finished things off perfectly. :3

Before I say farewell to this thread, as well as my March-April poll, I will leave behind one last pic as a memento to thank all viewers, and those who contribute to making this battle a legend, including myself. This deserves a huge memory. <3

Epilogue Scene - Mitakihara City, Japan
Time of Day: 07:00 (7AM)

>Sometime after Walpurgisnacht Event, the retired Holy Quintet have arrived safely back in Mitakihara.
>The incubators off-screen are very disappointed around the world that they no longer serve themselves a purpose, since all other Puella Magi had decided to retire, so all the alien creatures seem to disappear, hiding in the shadows unseen, waiting for a rebirth of the witch system for their comeback.
>A huge celebration is to be expected, as the five former Puella Magi were cheered for all their bravery and teamwork they did. They received gifts from their students and teachers, and the local government gave them platinum medals.
>After the celebration is completed, spring has finally arrived, at last, and for the first and only time after 100 cycles, they turned to face the audience, expressing their true happiness, thus concluding the story with a True ending.
