I believe it is most important as the owner of a forum to develop a forum that you invision, and not just to satisfy everyone else. In my experience running the few communities I have, I've learned it's no fun if you yourself don't enjoy using the site. 

The base concept of forums is dying, if you want to keep it going and bring in more new users nowadays its a good idea to consider social medializing your forum to make it more enticing to use (what ever that may mean to you when you read it.).

I myself don't really use forums as much anymore outside of the fun of them, but I do definitely keep Lewd in my rotation of URL's I type in to see if there's anything new going on. Hope to see more, best of luck with continuing this.
