Skullgirls giveaway/discussion

Posts

Hey, Skullgirl's really cheap on Greenman Gaming and the Humble Bundle Store right now, so I thought I should take advantage of that and buy a copy for someone.

You can now be that someone.

I love this game and want to get more people into it, so join the giveaway if you really want it and think you'd play it.

To join the giveaway, just say "I want to join the giveaway" on your post. If you don't want to join it but want to talk about the giveaway or just Skullgirls in general, go right ahead!

I'll announce a winner in 4-5 days depending on the response and how much time I have.

QUICK EDIT FOR CLARIFICATION:
I'm only giving away the base game, I didn't buy a bundle or any of the DLC. Fortunately for you, Beowulf and Robo Fortune are currently free for life if you own Skullgirls.

The winner will be chosen with use of https://www.random.org/

I already bought the copy that will be given away (I feel like that wasn't clear enough in the post).

Good luck, everyone!

Thanks for doing the giveaway!

I'm not entering, because I'd rather someone else got it.

And the winner is...

I've played SG before, after my friend kept asking me to get into it.

The characters were the main draw, but I was never really good at fighting games. Do you have any tips besides doing the tutorial for beginners?

Skullgirls is the first fighting game I ever got into, so I think I can help. The tips I'd give would be to do almost all of the tutorials (if you can't do the last couple of tutorials with really long parasoul combos, don't sweat it), pick a main that has a playstyle you like and play mainly lobby matches. Quick match won't do you any good if you're just starting out.

Joining a Skullgirls community, even superficially, is really helpful because A. you'll have more motivation because of the social aspect and you can know why you got your ass handed to you. For beginner groups, Skullgirls Slapfest is really good. For general tips use the Skullgirls subreddit sticky (for the love of all that is pure read the sticky before asking anything there). The subreddit is also useful for finding tech and people to play with.

If you want to play sometime and I'm on a game, feel free to let me know and I'll tell you if I'm available. If I ignore you I'm AFK, streaming, or I didn't notice your message.

Skullgirls not only has a tutorial mode that teaches you basic to advanced Technics for fighting games in general, but it also has individual tutorials and strategies for each character.

It is truly the beginner's best friend.

I have the game. There are cute girls but I do not know how to play
