My Journey 「WIP」

Posts

Hey guys. I am on a journey to improve my art skills from sketching to coloring to final work. It's going to be a long journey Tongue
So I decided to name this piece "My Journey" for that exact reason Big Smile
It still is in the work I have a sketch version and a little clearner version.

You need to use pressure to your advantage

Right now it looks a mess

Lower the opacity of scenery and the main pieces need to pop out instead of merging with scenery

Well its a mess because its a sketch :fp:
By pressure you mean pressure sensitivity?
Ill lower the opacity but it isnt the finished work so 😛

A sketch doesn't mean there's no focus or main pieces and it all merged into one

Jesus Christ

A sketch can still have focus and different pressures/thicknesses

For example scenery will be lightly done whereas something in front will be medium/hard pressure

When something is soft it draws attention away from it when something else in front it's popping out

Basically what you have is scenery and the main piece (a dragon? Idek) merged into one big scrambled mess

It needs to be less one layer of scribbles and apply something called focus on the main piece

The dragon, the girl the background have been done all in different layers. I understand what you mean. I do most of that if I line-art and color which is the end. You wont see the sketch on a finished work(most of the time atleast). It is not one layer. Its different layers so its not just one big mess. Like I said before this is just a sketch to get the idea across the next step is to add in the details and affects.
