Way to look on the bright side of things Koala. Reguarding Custy's topic, I've seen GTX 970s as low as 320$ and AMD 290X at 300$. Still a chunk of change, but quite inexpensive for the power in these cards.

Considering the fact that GTA 5 is going to have Mantle support day one, and the fact that as of right now DX has not fully utilized the Mantle source code, I'd say AMD is a much better option. Also, since the 300 series is coming around soon, with even the mid-range cards beating NVIDIAs current flagship products, it pretty much answers it self.
Then again this is coming from someone who has been a long supporter of AMD and their choice to innovate and push the industry forward, despite NVIDIAs sometimes (usually at the very end of an AMD series) slightly better performing graphics cards. (often very dependent on the game, eg physx games, etc)
Though on a price > performance ratio, AMD has NVIDIA beat by a long haul, despite what is said in the video @Losimantom linked.
