Saw this near the top of r/leopardsatemyface. God, I hope I can emigrate to an independent Scotland someday. Them and the Kiwis seem like the only Anglosphere countries that aren't coming apart at the seams. >_<

I doubt it started in Egypt. Perhaps the concept of a formal monarchy did, but the idea of a small group of people shitting on a weak majority will have existed long before then. Also bear in mind that it's people that often vote for non-qt politicians.

Chrissst, what the hell? The US must be on a major imperialist bent again lately. First there was that flimsy attempt at justifying war over a drone shootdown (which was rightly lambasted), but they just straight up assassinated someone equivalent to the Secretary of Defense.

This won't lead to war, but it's one hell of an escalation. I wish I didn't live in the empire.
