Thing I think is making pc/console games more monetized is the profits shown for 2018. Around 70% of all money made in gaming was mobile games now everyone wants piece of that pie. I know it fits with capitalism but c'mon

I've really forsaken AAA games outside of Ninty at this point so I'm not really concerned with how bigger PC and console releases are monetized. Plenty of things to enjoy that have come out before. There's also the indie scene that, despite its own set of issues, I think is doing better on average then the big bois.

Yeah :l and yeah about other games that are good without microtransactions in them

I just find it messed up that 60 dollar games are doing it. Make your game free instead. Not charge 60 bucks and add microtransactions. Go free with microtransactions instead and that way no one has a problem with it

the main problem is most people are absolutely brain dead it seems. they only follow the herd. cant think for themselves

I'm losing my shit over this Blizzard tomfoolery. Like what the fuck. Fucking Epic is dunking on them and they're more owned by Tencent than Blizzard is. And now they're actively trying to stop people from deleting their accounts. This is fantastic.

Blizzard is two faced

International twitter: we don't involve ourselves with politics blah blah and yet put their political views in their games
Blizzard China twitter: we will never ruin China's image/honor

Blizzard/Activation are bad. Luckily they are now considered the worst game company maybe Bethesda image will get better now 😃

The assault on the Kurds in Syria by the Turks. At this I don't care who it is, I just want someone to end Erdogan's system. Hopefully the information about Russian and Syrian troops forming up to support the Kurds are true.

I recall they also had a sizable contingent of international volunteers, including a handful of people from 8chan's /leftypol/. The poor bastards, I hope they're alive.

From what I can gather (article in German, probably won't help you) they are given the choice to either continue fighting Islamists or go with the SDF and YPG to fight the Turkish forces and their Islamist militias (FSA).
I also hope, they will be OK, but the odds are stacked against them. If only the US had a sensible president...

Seems like so many people forgot about this already.

Not enough people cared in the first place

As soon as Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2 were announced and the CEO guy issued that shitty non-apology, everyone seems to have lapped it up and went back to business-as-usual.

I saw a photo of a Chinese political prisoner in one of their nation's concentration camps. Dude looked like a skeleton, but the knowledge that he was still alive made it infinitely worse. Can't believe people are more worried about building some giant wall across the southern border.

To be fair, I don't think anyone should have been expecting this to seriously affect anything. Blizzdrones will drone as usual and Honk Kong's fate has been sealed since the British gave it to the PRC in 1997 IMO. Recognizing the PRC as legitimate was a fucking mistake.

Just a question. Personally i think that Blizzard is only a little worse than any other company operating in China right now. Do you do anything to limit your consumption of Chinese things? You can just assume all Chinese companies are PRC supporters, and companies that operate in China are mostly PRC apologists. It's difficult since they have a stranglehold on so much production and are invested in so much "American" media.

That's kind of an impossibility right now, IMO. Eastern Asia is such an integral link in global trade (Labor laws, what are those?), you'd be hard-pressed to find anything that isn't sourced from overseas. At best, perhaps your computers and cars.

Computers without Chinese parts? Not a chance. Not even the fancy parts with Japanese components.

The only thing I'm sure of is that you are able to get a processor not made in China. For the motherboards and everything else, I don't know. But Intel only has 1 manufacturing facility in China, and AMD processors are made by TSMC, who only has 1 location in China, but the processors are made at their facilities in Taiwan. So you can be pretty confident that your processor doesn't come from China.

I'm betting cars have parts sourced from China, with all of the electronics in them. Cars with Qualcomm chips like Audi will not be made in China, but Korea. But it's difficult to find a comprehensive list of all the parts in a car and where they came from. You can be sure that higher end vehicles will have less things from China.

Honestly, I really think that there are a lot of things where you have the opportunity to avoid it being Chinese-made. Clothes being the prime example. Cheap clothing is made in Honduras, Vietnam, and Cambodia and some of your clothes are probably made in those countries. I buy mainly second hand stuff anyway so it doesn't matter that much.

For the future, I do plan on limiting my consumption of Chinese goods and services out of my moral considerations. I think the world needs to realize that we can't rely on China for everything. China is a neo colonizer, sorry if i sounded a little propagandist.

All of it.
Understating the spying, manipulations and torments going on... Oblivious to their own cancers.. humans are frequently problematic.

Never in my life will I understand how the ruling class tricked Americans into believing other countries have "death panels" in their healthcare system, when the exact thing exists here as insurance companies. -_-

Better to let a few who can only afford a few hundred bucks die so you can charge those who can afford it tens of thousands and overall make a hundred times as much money.
But it's not a government agent making that call, just a private corp that has a strangle hold on all the power from a political lobby to finances.
