Shojo vs Shonen?

Posts

Depends completely on the mood, to be honest. I have favorites from both of those genres and I find the stories that have a good mix of action and romance better than just pure action or pure romance, so I can't really choose between Shonen and Shoujo.

Shoujo, cause I'm a teen girl.
Shounens are nice too, but most of them get too repetetive after a while. Naruto, just saying.

I read Fruits Basket and I really liked it, but I don't remember much of it, cause I read it like 3-4 years ago ^^ I guess I need to re-read it.

Yeah, same here. I've also seen the anime but I forgot most of it. I'll probably only re-read though, instead of re-watch.

Off-topic: Your new avatar and signature <3 LAST GAME (^)
That's one of the best shoujo manga I've read. And there's a Souma in that too, but Yanagi X Kujou all the way~~

Who cares about Soma

Nobody cares for Soma
The only thing about Last Game that I don't understand is how the guys feel that Kujou is cuter in maid uniform than her normal attire. She looks so much better in the normal attire to me o.o

So everybody likes the manga more than the anime? Yay!

I didn't like the anime's end (at least I think I didn't like it...). Just normal I guess, in 99.9% of all adaptions the manga is better than the anime :/

Much truth~
The only anime adaptation that I've found that is better than the manga is Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood (As far as I remember... and my far is pretty far...)

Thats a very good reason for liking shojo.

I prefer shonen.
I am not into romance genre after all and shojo is about romance, giggles, slice of life what not :/

I prefer shounen. I tried watching shoujo, but It just doesnt suit me and I find it extremely boring.

I think shoujo is typically better than shounen, but I'll watch both. The quality of an individual show matters much more than the genre/target audience, and there are really good (and really awful) examples of both.

As a male I find shonen to be pretty trashy. I did enjoy Bleach up until the end of the Soul Society arc where they save Rukia though...

Shoujo are full of feels though and because I'm largely dead inside these feelings resonate within me... Kimi ni Todoke might be my favourite shoujo show!

I feel like Shonens are more popular than Shoujos and therefore have a higher standard (animation quality, scenario) while Shoujos can be a little bit more liberal.

I'm a huge fan of two broad genres: Adventure with good characters, and lewd comedies. Shounen provides both, though I've come to prefer Seinen as of late.

I tried watching a few Shoujo series. Ouran High School Host Club was nice, but nothing else I saw appealed to me.
