Anyone refer to themselves in the third person?

Posts

Whenever I'm thinking about something involving me, i always think to myself "we", instead of "I", as if there was someone else in my head listening to my thoughts. For example, when I go shopping, I think to myself, "we should buy some prawns", instead of "I should buy some prawns".

Does anyone else here do something like this, or am I losing it?

"We" is actually third person. "You" is second person. Second person is a bit tricky. Think of those books where it's like "you pick up a book and read it. you find out it's about herbal plants." That's second person. "I, me, my" is first person.

Hmm, I always thought that third person referred to when one addresses someone other than themselves, i.e. "he", "she", "they" etc. Oh well, guess I better fix the title.

Still wrong.

He/She/It is third person. In my case saying "Metod is having fun", instead of "I'm having fun" would be saying it in third person.

"We" is first person plural.

And I don't do that. Once or twice I tried doing something like that on purpose, but never it was my thing.

edit: i sometimes argue with myself though.

Well, I talk to myself sometimes, but I'm pretty sure everyone else does that too.

that wasn't the question, it was that when you talk to yourself, do you use "we" instead of "I?"

No I do not. I do however talk to myself, but I never use third or second person. Seems borderline crazy.

I might've done that a few times, but it'd be few and far between.

Em would never do such a thing, he thinks that only crazy people do so.
