Hard-dance ravers general

Posts

Welcome to the hard-dance thread! Post anything you want relating to the hard-dance genres (hardstyle, hardcore, hard trance, whatever) - tracks you like, parties you're excited for, recommendations, etc.

I'll start off:

I've been listening to a lot of French hardcore after Le Bask and Dr. Peacock came to Sydney. Phenomenal party ^_^

Loving the sorta middle-eastern sounding string instrument in the intro, not particularly a fan of the rest though - I'm much more of a hardstyle person. I loved Headhunterz while he was still around, and I feel that the genre has lately not really been going in the right direction.

Agreed - I've noticed that in the past couple years, the normal hardstyle kick has moved to a weird "bong" noise that just sounds crap.

Do you like nightcore? 'Cause I'm in love with this hardstyle combo

That's the kind of kick that I'm talking about, personally it doesn't sound very integrated into the track but rather just pasted on top of it.

This is my recent go-to song for bumping in the car though:

Reverse bass hardstyle is great 😃

Ooooh, ok, I see. I dunno, I feel like nearly every major hardstyle track nowadays sounds like that Audiofreq one. They just feel raw to the point where I can't really hear much of a rhythm or melody in the song - might as well listen to hardcore, which I actually prefer in this instance.

2008-2013 is my favourite era, so to speak, of hardstyle. Da Tweekaz, Headhunterz, Omegatypez... Everything is too screechy now 🙁

Ironically, the Audiofreq track was supposed to be a throwback to when a lot of hardstyle was reverse bass hardstyle. See:

2008 was an awesome year for hardstyle, def agree on that one

Yeah, that one is much nicer than the Audiofreq track, in my opinion. It isn't annoyingly filled with screeches or anti-climaxes. Though I think it also doesn't hurt to add a bit of pitch to the kick, though I suppose that wasn't really the norm back then.

I'd love to get a hold of a Project One CD, but no luck in finding one so far 🙁

Malmon, can you be more specific about what the CD is? I might be able to find it.

Snapping the torrent now.  flac+100% log+cue.  Check the music share thread in 15 minutes or so.

Aaah sorry, I specifically meant the CD - the physical item. Torrents are easy enough to find 😛

Didn't realize you had posted it already. Posted official stance. Will allow flac w/ log to trump flac w/o log.
