yes, add fireworks to our usernames thx

Also, on the subject of back-burner improvements, I'd reckon it's high time we introduced s'more creature-comforts 'round here. Naturally everything's up in the air, but once we've got the new forum deployed, I'm personally angling to implement the Gallery, add a "Waifu" stat a la Kitsu, and maybe even draft up some awards for people.

I don't really have an idea for what kinda awards we'd give out, though I'd personally appreciate if they weren't meaningless and didn't introduce any impression of hierarchy. (No "2K Posts", no "Member for Three Years".) As for what they'd look like? I'd reckon we could tear one offa AnimeBytes and make 'em candy. Lollipops, cookies, cakes, all that jazz.

Note to Self: Perhaps I should write an optional translator plugin to let my foreign friends understand me better.

Probably the biggest regret I have about building a computer is skimping out on a case. This one is actually terrible.

Well, it's not the worst thing to skimp on. You can always replace it at a later stage, and it won't really cause any issues in the meantime.

Right after I turn on my PC: "To skip disk checking, press any key within 3 seconds"

Me:

Luckily I managed to press it in time, felt a sensation of victory afterwards.

You miiiight want to check your drive

I know it's important, otherwise they wouldn't force it like that, but it takes too long, and on my old computer if I remember correctly I had to reinstall Windows after disk checking because of errors.

The problem is probably already fixed, my disk was full because I didn't want to delete episodes from my 1080p anime collection, already deleted some now.

It's possible that you had to reinstall because there's something wrong with the drive. Look up the SMART data if you can.

I've been staring this damn monitor in the face, but I somehow can't find myself pulling the trigger. Should I go for it or nah? https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=0JC-0031-000V4&ignorebbr=1

What will you be using it for?

Most likely general use, maybe some photo/video editing when I have the time.

Seems alright for the price. Maybe a little large for 1080p, but that depends on how far away you have it, I suppose. Might be worth looking up reviews to see if there are any IPS glow issues.

All my monitors are 24inch 1080p. They're fine. Looking up reviews who do proper indepth testing with a colorimiter is great though, although they dont exist for all panels

Edit: here's one https://www.kitguru.net/peripherals/ryan-redfield/philips-moda-slim-245c7qjsb-designer-monitor-with-ultra-wide-color-technology-review/4/ only thing i'd be worried about is that contrast ratio

I don't think I've ever seen anything better than 1000:1 on an LCD. You'd probably have to go OLED or plasma for a better one.

As someone who does stuff in Photoshop, I really wish I had looked for color accuracy in reviews. My first monitor probably has the best color accuracy, my second does not + it's way too dark, my third is a bit washed out but thats because I haven't bothered to play with the color profile at all. I wish all my monitors displayed color almost equally, but they don't and it can bug the shit out of me if I notice it when moving a window from one monitor to the next.

my panel from 2007 is 750:1, this was 1:450. That's nearly twice as bad even 10 eyars later. 1000:1 is fine, but 450:1 is pretty dubious. If you'll notice it depends on the workload. I definitely notice the difference in contrast between my monitors when comparing the grey/grey contrast on lewd's theme.

No can do with the 1-on-1 with AIO because of a storm underway. I'll try to finish that with him ASAP.

It's absolutely nutty that I live at a time where I can use the wayback machine to see a forum account of mine from 8 years ago. A blast from the past. Still have my e-mail from when I was a moderator on there too. vBulletin was still the go-to for forum software as well.

Edit: Jesus fuck I found a video from 2011 that I uploaded to Youtube. CRT Monitor with hackforums open. LOL

Edit 2: WHAT THE FUCK. Another video of me showing off the player moderator section of the Runescape forums when I was a member of h.rs. Why did I make these things?!

Edit 3: WE'RE GOING DEEP TONIGHT BOYS. Logged into my old mediafire account from 2010-2013. Apparently I started blossoming as a weeb around 2013, which makes some sense.

Edit 4: I was a bad person. 🙁

Edit 5: Found some PSD's from when I was an aspiring graphic designer. Lul

Some dude won a contest and I made him a Xbox controller per his request.

I made an album cover. It's horrible and I cannot fathom how he must've felt with this shitty "work." If you could even call it that LOL. He still used it, just added text.

Edit 6: A remnant of the first black friend I ever had and to days when I thought I was a cool 1337 hacker.

Edit 7: Well that was a wild ride. This is enough stuff for me to keep myself awake by sheer cringe factor alone for at least a month.

Yeah, this part of year is always very hard, but i love spend time on here. Don't disappear my fellas, my heart need cute 2d girls. >.<
