Today my classic 160 GB iPod (which was 100% full) died and had to be restored

I have all the music on hard drives, but it's going to be a long time before I can add it all back on. It's a very strange feeling, like I'm naked without all the music that's important to me in my pocket.

From what Laura Mulvey said back in the mid '70s, it comes in three simple terms us males do all the time: We look at women as objects, we look at women from a masculine, hetero point of view behind the camera, and the characters themselves represented towards the male viewer purely for pleasure. Feelings, thoughts, and tastes don't matter to a man other than the frame in question.

A female gaze is completely different by concept, but not the other way around, so this might be all due to "scopophilia".

Sometimes it's healthy to listen to be sad and to listen to sad music as it rains. At least I like to think so.

I'm at least going to stop fapping in the mornings, destroys my productivity for the whole day.

I've read Mulvey's writing and I feel like the term is misused and misunderstood by most. She uses it primarily for Hitchcock's films and it pretty much just means an enjoyment of someone as beautiful. She sees it as a negative thing, but I think it's a feature of art like anything else and I'm sick of people trying to make art take the blame for anything in society.

In my mind the fear over "objectification" is such a disease in western countries. In Japan it seems like people don't think there's such a binary divide between enjoying someone's looks and someone as a person; they're both complimentary. And I love that.

If critics say that there's no female gaze in Hollywood, clearly they haven't seen any of those old Rock Hudson movies lol.

That's the plan, yeah! First I'm gonna try replicating things I see in graphite, then perhaps I'll move onto imagined scenes.
