I've picked myself up an ol' Oneplus 7 Pro. Kinda stoked, hope the shipping time isn't too bad, but I wouldn't fault them either way.

The oneplus' look quite appealing, but I'd not get one given the lack of a headphone jack. Non-removable battery also sucks, but apparently they're relatively easy to take apart.

Sharpened my knife on a cup butt, guess it means I can wait before blowing 200€ in Naniwa Pro stones. Plates, bowls, cups, mugs,... work fine because they are generally in ceramic and the butt has some unpolished part exposed. Maybe I'll try on glass next time, and also try to find out what grit those kitchen accessories are.

€200 seems pretty steep for some whetstones... though admittedly I've never actually looked into them much. But yeah, apparently the cup trick works quite well, albeit with a less sturdy base.

Yeah, cup worked pretty well. The round shape makes it a bit annoying to sharpen a blade tbh and I would only do short and soft blades like I did this time (pocket knives) as the usable surface is quite minimal. 200€ is indeed pretty steep, that would be more like 175€ for two stones, a 1000 (75€) and a 3000 (100€) grit. I could go for lower priced stones or even a 40€ combo stone with 1000/3000 (in fact I already have one back home) but I want to try better quality stones. The Naniwa and Shapton I'm looking at are also considered hard stones, which is something I never tried. Should use up slower (stone should last maybe about 10 years), different sharpening feel which is quite worth it in itself and I should be able to sharpen my more expensive knives with harder steels. Anyway, it's something I'll keep in mind for later as most my knives are back home and I don't want to bring them here, I'll cry if they confiscate them at the airport.

This is about to get very freaky... the anime invasion of San Andreas is about to start soon now that Cordelia and Avery is no longer present regardless of fault. The plan is to rescue Sakuri that was kidnapped by Holly, a defected Lucian using her dimensional-crossing bioengineered plague with no clear origin or name but known to transform people slowly into two-dimensional waifus based on the genes of original three-dimensional personalities. And I have to do it within four in-game months due to the game's setting in 1992. I would feel pity for CJ, his fellow homies and the African-American population, but sacrifices have to be made in the name of heroism. CJ may initially disregard this so-called invasion as nothing but snake-driven hogwash, but if I use him well, then the transformed invaders which is us will treat him real good and may help him whenever necessary, despite his one-man army capabilities. All my patience has been paid off, my reawakened beast PC will unleash its new potential.

With a very weakened and paranoid America no matter the reality, the only way I can save it is to bring down the corrupt from within and beyond it.

Ever had those moments when you've passed by something a hundred times without sparing it a thought, and then that time, the one time you need it, you're like "Awh, damn, I really wish I'd put that away somewhere!"

On that note~, I'm wondering whose bright idea it was to fire a bunch of staples into my old desk. Grrrr. =~='

Did you buy something and forget? 😛

Tang wrote

definitely not

Does it not show up on your bank transactions? Or was it cash?

I'm a little too old for cakes, they don't do any more candle stuff, so I figure that all I'm getting now is new PC games that would do well on my new RTX card to compensate for not going to any stores.

I now gotta find a new place to diversify my presence, this place is getting nowhere active with only around half a dozen people, some days even no one, and when I do find it, I'll let everyone know.

I'm so stressed out from moderating a server, ugh. How do people do this

Haah~, I know the feel love. I might be able to give pointers; what kinda server? ^^

It's a game dev server. Problem is that it's been the target of a few raids lately due to a surge of interest in the game

A game dev server? Dev as in development? How does that work? ^^'

I presume it's a game that's in beta/early access before final release. Think Minecraft back in the early days. Based off the context, it probably runs the nightly builds of the code.

What game, Loko-san? ^~^

I wish 3D printing was more convenient.

idk, seems pretty convenient compared to laser cutting or machining~

My mouse's wheel button stopped working yesterday. Luckily KDE has a setting where I can press the left and right mouse buttons simultaneously to output a middle mouse button click, so I have been using that instead.
In the beginning I kept messing up and right-clicking or left-clicking when I wanted to do a middle-click, but I think can do it somewhat reliably now.
This setup is even slightly more convenient now that I no longer have to move my finger away from a button when I want to middle-click ^^

haha true. i mean more in terms of access. my cousin and i are thinking of putting some funds together for one.

You probably know already but 4chan /diy/ has a general dedicated to 3D printing and they are fairly helpful. Didn't get a printer myself, I lurk from time to time.
The Ender 3 Pro is fairly recommended and it's a relatively cheap entry point for a printer (at around 250 USD) so it shouldn't set you and your cousin back too much. There's also lots of resources about calibration etc as it is popular.

On another note, it's way too hot these days and the heavy wearther makes it worse. Had to put some mulching so my plants don't dry up too quick.

Bruh, do you have any idea how cheap 3D printers are compared to pretty much any other sort of 3D modelling hardware?

Don't underestimate me!

Bought myself a Sony ICF-2001D on eBay. I wonder what I'll be able to receive with it ^~^

Wow, looked it up and that sounds like a cool piece of equipment! I always thought sending and receiving radio to be a fairly interesting hobby but never got around to it. Have fun! ^_^
