Any Fushigi Yuugi fans out there?

So when I first started watching Anime I found Fushigi Yuugi and fell in love with the characters. I enjoyed the fact that they all came from diverse backgrounds, and had such different personalities to each other, yet one by one they all were united together as a team by one idiotic girl. I didn't really like Miaka much, but she did provide some comic entertainment with her eating habits. Has anyone else watched this anime and if so, who was your favorite character? My favorite character was Tasuki and Hotohori. I could never decide between the two, but I think I've always favorited Tasuki a bit more just because I enjoyed his bad boy style and attitude.

I never really got too into the series to be honest. Was too busy watching Ghost in the Shell around the time I started watching this show and never really bothered to pick it back up after I finished with GitS based on your recommendation though I may have to.

Ahh, understandable. I heard that was a really good anime. FY was pretty good yes, it really pissed me off at times though, but all in all a pretty good one for someone just starting out with anime like myself.

I also love Fushigi Yuugi - I started out the series totally "in love with" Hotohori, but somehow, about halfway through, I "switched teams" to Tamahome - I was just really touched by his character I think. Miaka can be a bit thick headed, but at the time when this show was popular, similar character types such as Sailor Moon / Cry Baby Usagi were really popular too.

I loved Hotohori too, and I guess I kinda switched teams too for Tasuki, lol. Those two were my most favorite and loved characters in the show.

Goodness, how old is this anime? I was in love with this when I was younger. Our local television network played it but sadly, didn't aired its ending. For me, I love Miyaka although she's a bit clumsy and the typical anime girl we see. My heart was already set with Tamahome and I always wished for the two of them to end up together as well.:p

I was kind of shipping other couples, but I was happy with the ending in a way.
