When has god ever helped anyone? Let's be real here, 90% of the people who believe in god are poor or have some big disability. You've never seen those tv shows were all these old ladies and sick people go up on a stage and say how "God has cured their health issues". Its obviously not the scientists who have studied for centuries for these fucks to be able to live longer.

Want proof that god was invented to make money? Just look up some history, the church is ALWAYS there. And it wasn't only for money. It was for power too.

The church gained power yes, but "Christianity/Jesus/God/God(s)/Goddesses" etc have been around long, long, long before any "churches" were established so to speak. Learn to be humble and actually read please and thank you .

I feel as though something is more powerful than us all.. Something controls us all... I'm just not sure what.

My Mum is hella Christian and I was raised that way. Now that I've got older, I don't believe it all from when I was a kid.

I'm semi-Atheist but not fully because I believe in God, but I don't believe it is God who controls things.

Religion has often been used to control people. Churches were run like businesses back in the day, and had far more power than they do today. The Pope was practically a king, and many a king had to follow the religious teachings of the time to a tee, otherwise you'd have a kingdom vs church thing going on, and that didn't look good for you because Kings were meant to be seen as of divine origin. At the time churches and religion became widespread there were still a lot of rulers that held the throne simply because they had the divine right to do so. 

So in short yes churches were used to make certain individuals rich and powerful.

I find it troubling that a lot of people do not have belief in GOD. Is anime or the virtual world more believable?

Yea but we seem to only believe in what we can physically be seen or proof that something is real. There are many things that are being discovered that would have been only of the imagination but are being discovered. I believe in GOD whether we have the proof or not. One day the world might be astounded when HE is discovered. I grew up without religion my mother an atheist and my dad a strong belief in science. So i can respect others and what they believe in or not.

First off, each individual who does believe in a god seems to have a slightly different view from the others when it concerns the character and nature of the god.
Science itself has shown us, over and over again, that something cannot come from nothing.  And this is where my personal belief of God comes in. My thoughts on the topic are far deeper than what I am expressing here, but I'm just trying to come across clearly, instead of overloading you with my personal perspective on the matter.  I believe God exists. I also believe in the Bible - but some things I'm not too sure about. I think everything in the Bible is relevant to some extent, though many people see certain things incorrectly/from the wrong perspective. 

 However, you are partially correct in saying that it is 'the answer that makes many people happy'. There are many people who are delusional and have no true grasp of spiritual and/or religious matters, particularly when it concerns the nature of God. Thing such as mega churches are generally money-grabbing houses of 'feel-good' speeches, delivers by uneducated morons that just want to say the right words and get paid. Most of America's population of so-called Christians are disgusting human beings, or completely illogical individuals that are being drifted along by the aforementioned 'feel-good' side to religion. Evangelists completely watered down the meaning of Christianity, and as a result, the actual meaning in the religion has been scraped away majorly over the last few centuries. And even before that, it was being abused by the Roman Catholic Church for money and power. Evangelists shifted the focus from God to Jesus(even though Jesus was only put here on earth to bring us closer to God, not to himself) and started marketing it and dumbing it down.
 As such, please consider that most people calling themselves Christians, and most people that believe in a higher being, are indeed only doing it because it makes them happy, and not because they truly believe in or understand anything spiritual.
