Do you believe in god?

Not really but I'm to open the idea god may exist.

I just believe in karma, does it count? As long I don't kick kitties or puppies, I think I'm safe XD;;

Same here! I'm open about the idea. I also believe that karma does exist.

I say no.

I've been a strong Atheist for many years now despite growing up in a Christian family.

No. I am an atheist but I do respect people that are religious. My only issue is when people let religion blind their logic and rationale. Like I don't really care if you believe in Jesus but once you start denying hard proven science we got a problem.

Quite honestly I do not believe in a God as I view this "figure" as a myth, such as a folklore that has been passed down generations and formed into multiple religions and people have based their moral beliefs around that.

I don't believe in God or any other variation of supernatural phenomena/beings and probably never will.

Same.

I'm an atheist but everyone always thinks I'm religious because I'm highly interested in religion's effect on history and art. I've probably read the bible more than any of my Christian friends lol.

To me, believing in the religious gods others put faith into is like believing that your life and efforts are best left to someone else's hands, and I don't believe in that.

Even if the gods that popular religions believe in are proved to be real, I believe more that they exist purely to inspire one's own faith and trust in themselves as their own gods, to put matters into their own hands than accept things as pure chance and divine intervention.

Hey guys,
You remember that part in the old testament where God commands the Israelites to kill every single person in this city, including the women and children, then to burn down the city and destroy all of their artifacts?
You remember that part where they do that, but some guy steals a couple gold bars, so God threatens to destroy every single Israelite?
You remember how, after that, Joshua had to talk God down from killing his entire congregation?
You remember how the same thing happened over and over again throughout the book of Joshua, just with God getting slightly more lenient each time?

In the Bible, God commanded the Israeli people to commit genocide on several civilizations. That's not some exaggeration or misrepresentation. They dedicate a book and a half to it.

Just... fuck, man. Fuck.

which god?

your asking of this question implies the answer will be no, but I'll just say "any god"

i believe in the infinite power of lorkhan. he created us in his glorious burning image and died for us

I grew up in a very religious household. Attended church services on saturday night and sunday morning; as well as bible study and youth group throughout the week. I went to "aquire the fire" and other christian events yearly and used my free time as a teenager to spread the word of god. I was mistaken in thinking that because I was a good christian, nothing bad would ever happen and I would have a life full of blessings. It's kind of wierd, one bad thing happened and I've switched my view of religion overnight. I've been an athiest for nearly 10 years now and I can't even remember what it is like to believe in a god; I no longer understand what goes through someones head to come to the conclusion that there is a god out there watching over us. But, I can understand what's appealing about religion. My uncle was an alchoholic who only came clean after joining a church, and my mother, who seeks redemption for a life of mistakes. I am an ordained minister and I still perform interfaith weddings, but I can't ever see myself becoming part of a church again.
