I'd beg to differ on that. Just because a show is lighthearted, and not meant to be taken as seriously as others, doesn't mean cool characters cannot be found in it. Now, by no stretch of the mind am I a huge fan of Fairy Tail, but I do believe a few of them could be cool. Is Jellal one of them? No.

FT Spoilers
Someone I would find cool, and pun not intended, would be Ur. She literally sealed a Demon of Destruction, through sacrifice, in ice. But, she was also that tough love kind of mentor that helps Grey reach his full potential at points in the show.

Second would be Panther Lily. He's a badass cat with a big ass sword. Nuff said.

Yajima. He's that one old dude in every show that is quiet and reserved, but wise as fuck and you know it.
