I'm new to the whole anime scene, and Aiba suggested this site to me.

Any suggestions for what I should watch?

Hello! Welcome to the forums.

What genre do you like? Do you like Evangelion?

Anyway, my suggested must watch anime for newcomers are these:

1- Full Metal Alchemist (Brotherhood)
2- Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
3- Code Geass

Have a good time here <3

Evangelion is a very popular anime from the 90s, just like Hokuto no Ken from the 80s.

It is regarded as one of the best anime series ever. Just pointed to try to elaborate a better list for you following your interests.

I agree. You ain't no anime watcher till you watch Evangelion.

Watch the reboot if you wanna go movie-style.

What the actual fuck, save me.

Wait what the fuck else would "Evangelion" be? You asked for shows what did you expect? A list of horizontal sleeping animals?

Here we have our most 'special' member trying to show signs of detachment from society. It's smart to not agitate or even try confronting this odd species.
Like laifot mentioned, Fullmetal Alchemist would be a good start, however if this is one of your first anime I don't recommend Brotherhood.

Why is that? i mean FMA Brotherhood is far superior than the "normal" FMA, i'd only change the final episodes from Brotherhood but it's a bloody masterpiece nonetheless.

Yes I agree. However I see Brotherhood as dark compared to FMA. FMA is light hearted and comedic when comparing it to Brotherhood. I don't think someone should start on a serious anime in my personal opinion.

Agreed, but i recommended Evangelion so i was just following the same style of series. Ice didn't specify his/her tastes.

Uhm...

"Near the end of the series, Rosé returns again, this time as the holy mother of her town. During the rebellion in Reole, half of her race had been slaughtered and she had been captured by the military and assaulted and raped by a soldier. Due to the trauma of being raped and as a result, impregnated, she became a mute".... Not exactly... "Light hearted and comedic"

Anyways welcome @"Ice" enjoy your stay here.

Whatever Tenshi... I'm just giving my personal opinion without berating others on what they think. I think both series were great, I just usually recommend FMA to my friends as I own it on DVD. I own Brotherhood on Blu-ray, but a good amount of people don't own something to play those... so FMA it is.
lol

I know it's a personal opinion I just didn't think it was a light hearted and comedic show in comparison, just my own opinion.
