How much space do we need?

More than 1TB

That doesn't seem like a very extreme requirement

we had aww.moe and pomf.is on the same 1TB box; pomf.is is at like, 650gb and aww.moe is at 150gb. and rx keeps his hentai collection on the box too, so we hit the 1TB quicker than we expected.

I don't keep my hentai collection on the old box, I keep it on the new box, pls.

Can you like teach me how to make a file hosting website from scratch? I'm not sure how it all works. ;_;
I have a cool domain I'd like to do something with.

You don't need to make one from scratch, open source softwares are available. If you add me on Discord (Melancholy#4557) I can try walking you through the setup.
