For example this website! I have no idea it existed but it looks like it has a large community of interesting people. I wonder if there are more sites like this that are great but somewhat hidden?
Sites/Apps that you use that aren't exactly well known.

Lokorfi wroteThis site is probably pretty well-known, but I thought I should throw it out there in case it isn't. http://deadendthrills.com/
It has a lot of really pretty shots from big time games like Bioshock and Life is Strange.
oooh, nope never heard of it! Good one. I've been putting off Mirrors Edge Catalyst too much. I have it downloaded too, just stuck on overwatch ;-;
So yeah, would you like some NESiCAxLiVE dumps? http://www.emuline.org/topic/757-nesicaxlive-arcade-pc-dumps-taito-game/
If you're willing to sign up, read french and read a lot, you'll be playing carefully recrafted retro games as well as new ones.

Somehow, this comes to mind.

There's one site that I came across real recently called Atomic Rockets. http://www.projectrho.com/public_html/rocket/
It's meant to be a resource for people wanting to write some harder science fiction and has lengthy entries on things such as the logistics of governing a galactic empire, FTL Telecommunication and time travel.
I use an app called Saiko but idk if it's well known or not

I like Your World of Text. (Not so much "not well-known" as "faded into obscurity")
SuperTux. My favorite open source game.

The Free Bundle. Kinda like HumbleBundle, only for freeware Indie Games.
TBF most of 'em aren't much to write home about, but you can never go wrong with free entertainment.
Oh boi, here we go.
I got plenty of old ONI and Bungie related links.
Not really rare but I thought I would share.
Most of these sites are no longer active, but they have lots of nice material.

Cons:
using a lot of battery power.
Anyone heard of isthereanydeal yet? If ya haven't, it's pmuch an aggregator site that crawls online video game vendors for price cuts. It also keeps track of historic lows, and can notify ya if a game goes on sale; kinda like Steam's wishlist.
Two old choose-your-own-adventure pieces of weirdness that were influential to my early internet days.
Interestingly it seems that BSP has updated recently, which I believe is a first in some 10 years. Superbad never does though.

I've been using a nifty little thing called spidr.today for a while now. It's a simple news aggregator made by a /news/man that's done pretty well at keeping me up to date on happenings.
Anyone heard of Franz? In case ya haven't, it's pretty much a consolidated cross-platform messaging app that works with a vast array of services; ranging from Facebook to WhatsApp to Discord to even Steam.
It does this by essentially running a miniature web browser inside the app - one for each service - that links up to the service provider's API and allows you to log in as if you were using their web app. This means it never reads your messages, which is a boon to privacy-minded folk, and the app itself is extremely convenient regardless. By my mark, it's the last IM client you'll ever need.
