I don't really know fedi, but can't you just, not be in groups with edgy people or so?

Yeah... You know, I could just limit my posts to members of my instance. Not to mention, Fedi has tons of privacy options like the prerequisite of approving followers before they can see your posts. It's not as comfy as it was when exclusively left-wing people used it, but I reckon there's still something for us.

Fedi is comfy. I'm on elekk.xyz. I'm glad to have a platform available that isn't filled up with adverts, and I tend to find that fediverse is less constantly depressing to look at than other social media.
I'm looking forward to Pixelfed becoming more mature so I can finally ditch Instagram for good.

Haven't touched this stuff in ages. With the recent Twitter takeover I'm thinking about creating an account somewhere. Anyobdy still active there and can recommend me an instance? I think niu.moe shut down in 2020... 😢

    Shhh say what you will about the pre-Elon staff but Elon really is just kind of making shit up as he goes. throwing hissy fits and changing things without thinking through the consequences before realizing what he did and backtracking a bit. it really isn't pleasing anybody.

        kc2n Honestly Twitter was garbage before Elon but I liked well enough just to see dumb stuff people were saying while I was bored at work. I barely go on it now.

            Shhh i think the idea elon sold when he was purchasing twitter was good but so far none of his irrational actions have fit his words.

            overall idc as much cuz less social media is prob good for everyone and seeing my feed full of either "ree fuk elon" or "elon musk let me get some of ur ballsack musk in my face" is a good deterrent.

              jojo123 whats the odds on them shutting down raru too? feel like if i wanted to use mastodon i'd either self host (with a linode default for this its really easy to now) or use one of the bigger/mainstream instances.
