Honestly i'm not sure how those mousepads are even comfortable

I always saw them as a meme first and an actual use second. My mousepad is on a keyboard tray with a wooden guard at the end that my wrist rests on when I'm using the mouse so I guess the utility makes sense to me.

I'd always been curious about the context of the picture. After a quick reverse search I found that it was taken by a "rooftopper" which I guess implies that he snuck onto it. He even took one from an edge of the crane. Guy seems to be a pretty good photographer and I absolutely adore the aesthetic of cityscapes so I'll have to check some of his other stuff out. Like, hot damn I wish I'd delved more into that first pic sooner.

Height is one of those things that terrifies and fascinates me. Like, I'd love to be up there, but I know I'd probably be terrified the entire time. It's really beautiful from up there.

I think the thing that gets me the most about this picture is the fucking cowboy boots.
Usagi is a comrade.

Someone in Iwaku region in NS is trying to recreate my civilization on Stellaris (Authoritarian, Militarist, and Spiritualist), it has a symbol that looks like a red five-arm spiral, and when another player of theirs attempts to insult Lucia, this ironic moment happens.
For me, only the first icon is way out of league on my part (I am not the one trying that galaxy simulator game yet). According to my planet's weird policies and overall freedoms, it does match the second and third icons, but authority is so darn low among other factors to a point that my planet no longer deserves to be Authoritarian, let alone military and faith.
What do you think? The timeline for such a recreated civ of mine is canon with such an awesome game, taken place around the same century, the 2200s. :3

Shogunate Japan was a brutal regime that pursued absolute stability by shuttering itself behind closed doors, but that's not to say the educated were ignorant of the world at large. The end of the era saw scholars feverishly translating western texts as illustrated manuscripts, including this book on the American Revolution.
It's chock-full of beautiful and fascinating renditions of famous events throughout the period, like this depiction of George Washington fighting the British, holding a musket in a manner that distinctly reminds me of Miyamoto Musashi. Sadly, it's unlikely any English translation will ever be released, but it's free to browse at the link below.
