Coolest thing that happened to you in the last 1.5 years

Hmmm, last 1.5 years

  • Got with and broke up with gf of 6 months

  • Got to work at an IKEA (kind of strange compared to what I'm used to, but cool nonetheless)

  • Went to an amusement park over the summer w friends

  • Reconnected with best friend

  • Went on a family vacation out of the country

  • Went to my first concert, went to a second concert in NY, made a friend from there

  • Joined a club at uni for the heck of it, ended up staying and making some new friends

  • Got to attend my very first wedding (at least one that I can remember) in Chicago

  • Landed a part time job at my university doing IT stuff, which is very fun for me

  • Caught up on RWBY

  • Basically stuck at home b/c of coronavirus pandemic

I'd say it was pretty eventful, but I feel like it's gonna slow down a lot from here lol

Last 1.5 years huh? I haven't really reflected on it too much.

But I guess the most eventful. I've gone from working as a dishwasher, working a slave IT-support job in a 24/7 callcenter to now being kind of a 2ndline IT support and software engineer. Planning to go even further.

Got my first real legal flat contract, I now live 10 minutes from work. Which is both a blessing and a curse... gotta set up some boundries because I end up working too much overtime :p

Hey, it's nice living that close! While I do like driving, a 50 minute commute to work is a bit excessive, and costs me £200 a month just in fuel.

I've mostly exchanged poetry for theater, since I'm studying that now.

And what probably won't surprise ya then is that I've been doing a lot of theatre things. Did a big Christmas musical produced from my school and Played a manwhore in a public toilet over the summer. It's been a pretty interesting time and bound to get more interesting seeing as I'm going to play a play about men who have a fetish for Ketchup which they secretly practise in a Synagogue. Will have to scale down a wall in the synagogue, talk about having sex with a dude whilst pretending to mastrubate and writhe around in a tub of Ketchup with some older men and make out with 'em. That's going to be fun when my Christian parents come and watch.

Partially my new bio that explains most of my activity around here, but there were a few major events that really carved up a tonne of good posts long before the new system switch. Part of last year has gotten me into the modding mood in games, well only one such game I truly adored for years at the expense of being unable to finish the lore about my former planet. Many of us said in their heads that 2018 was indeed the golden year, especially because of my near-constant rivalry with @[deleted]'s maritime alliance over a single little thing in the middle of a very nasty, yet heroic first RP I made the year before that. There is still no sign of a peace treaty, and I cannot be sure whether both of us would ever come to some sort of compromise for the better or worse. There was a brief truce or two, but it didn't last anyway, because truces are only short-lived agreements or compromises that nearly always guarantee to break.

Then I got into some skittish diplomatic negotiations with Gensokyo, a couple instances ended up having to resolve their never-ending cycle of incidents, and the one that knocked out my planet somehow with a giant cutting-edge sword wielded by a fanatic nature-loving, xenophobic member claiming to be a leader of the Scarlet hierarchy with a superior complex. That was indeed the "last straw of sanity", which caused his fellow loyalists in Eientei to disown him and declared his own return to Chireiden, and from there he stays without doing much. Sometime after that, the environment around where Lucia once stood as a planet became occupied by the very forces that struck it down with ease; some even go as far as to claim that the Lucian race had died out, but not on my watch.

In recent months, I cannot really seem to get @[deleted]'s nation having a new leader despite cooperative efforts, and forgotten to suggest using some sort of naming generator to name a new leader. Not even my artistic improvements catch any attention lately because now we do not have as many active members to go around as it used to. What I can do for now in my head as I type this is setting up the one-in-all nation with nearly all the nations I ever played, mash it up and micro-manage until it meets each of my five leaders' needs, but in the end only one leader takes it up for grabs, ouch. That was also the time the real panic from social media about an unknown virus, and I had not even bat an eye until very lately.

So far, I had not run into any potential troublemakers ever since my old Tripartite died out, it is only trouble enough if a nation grows so big and then starts roaming around the various forums and other regions just to scoop up their own activity for one's gain or a region's particular interest. About roughly 50% the time I spent here posting something good, another quarter of the time tending to my nations' business, and the other quarter dealing with life. Some things just won’t prop up from my mind to reveal it to you publicly to save face, which is why even after three years being here, I still maintain a subtle degree of mysteriousness, but not completely left out. Yet I'm making a real comeback on NationStates in terms of making a five-in-one nation under the Socialist side on a new world, a hybrid race of Lucians and Surians, and my chance to get back on my feet very soon.

Overall, I really cannot wait to start exploring the new planet Suria that is only 700 light years from here due west, I just have to find a proper ID seed and a good colonization spot to begin the Lucian Pentapartite. There has not been one nation from the list of nations going by it; the closest was Five Nations, inspired by the song Five Armies.

Eh, it turns out Suria is a single dark rock ringed planet, but the vegetation should be bluish-green. It's sadly the only planet orbiting a lone small white star.

Sounds like being the leader of a kingdom as vast and interesting as that is hard work. I hope you rule fairly and kick ass. And if you need some help exploring that new Suria planet I'm afraid I won't be of much help. But if you want to fake a landing, I'm your guy, don't be shy and ask.

Ah yes, the past year and a half have been nothing short of revolutionary, as far as my life is concerned. Not only did I graduate high school, I also matured into the person that I am today. I'm well developed now, or at least that's what I make myself believe, it beats the other possibility so I'm fine with the blissful ignorance that it may provide. In the past few months I've also found love, as I have entered into a relationship with an ex coworker.

There seems to be a sort cosmic irony to it, however.  I always expected myself to be able to communicate properly and recognize the needs of my lover in a romantic relationship. Assuming that most problems with relationships come from this, I thought that a romantic commitment with another stable and mature person would be no problem. I should consider myself lucky, for such is the person that I have found myself in the loving company of a person who is well-adjusted and can deal with the flotsam and jetsam of everyday life without wrecking the amorous ship that we have boarded. However, through a wicked spiel of the Gods, or maybe just through pure coincidence, I can not seem to be able to truly love that which is theoretically capable of providing me with a lasting contentness and joy. I fear that this emptiness in my heart is the hole through which the ship will slowly sink, and I, as captain feel responsible and guilty for being unable to love my girlfriend properly. Maybe I am the one that's broken instead of the ship, and I will never be able to feel true love. Or maybe this is all normal and I am vastly overdramatizing my own emotional tragedy in front of a bunch of nerds on the internet. All in all, definitely an unwelcome byproduct of the coolest thing that has happened to me in that past year and a half.

I'd also cast a vote in favor of @Loko flexing his penmanship. It's really interesting to see how all of you are evolving through life, I'm very interested in hearing your cool stories.

If you two manage to stick together through the roughest of patches, then that's probably a good testament to the strength of your relationship. I sure hope so. This is all new to me so I can only wait for time to tell me what I'm supposed to do.

I sure am! Maybe on my own expense though. Been working overtime every single day this month. Got 27 hours overtime at this point.
Going to make it a point to actually go home on time next month.
