Hey guys, I'm Quintuplicate but everyone calls me Quin or Quint. I'm a huge fan of Serial Experiments Lain and a bad Python programmer. I look forward to having fun here!
Hello everyone!

Hello there, Quin~ What sorta stuff do you program? ^_^
Oh, nothing interesting...just stuff I have to do for class.
quintuplicate What sorta stuff are they getting you to do? I remember learning Python for the first time in school... we didn't exactly have the best teacher.
malmon Right now I'm writing a program that reads a vocab list as a dictionary and allows the user to add entries to it.
What I really like about this course is that to get full points in an assignment, you have to "extend" it by adding three features for the end user.
quintuplicate That's cool ^_^ Just command line stuff?
malmon I'm not sure what you mean by "command line stuff" - I use an IDE to write my code if that's what you're asking.
quintuplicate As in are you writing GUIs for your class, or do the programs just run in the terminal?
malmon They just run in the terminal - I have no idea how to write GUIs.
quintuplicate Fair~ It's quite a bit more involved - don't think we really did that in school either.
quintuplicate yello, I'm quite new here but came to let you know that is technically a command line app as you don't have a GUI for it.
Writing GUIs isn't actually too complicated if you use something like TKinter or PYSimpleGUI but those can be boring if you want it to be more.
If you want more complicated designs you can use qt designer to design the layout for you and then read some of the docs on how to initialize the UI stuff and connect button presses to function calls.
