clare changed the title to october updates megathread (last updated: 21/10) .

some performance changes have been made, so the site should feel a bit quicker now.
please let me know if you notice anything broken!

reactions now can be the entire emote/emoji library and apply just like discord reactions.
likes have been changed to the heart react - this is reversible if people don't like it.

i have also gone through log files and found and resolved a couple of errors that showed in really niche situations.

clare probably safer and more reliable to go with cloudflare r2 and cloudflare images if needed, I think you’d still fit in the free tier too.

Edit: saw you already added an image provider.
The anime list is a cool feature

Dontmindme Perhaps an unpopular opinion, but... Cloudflare has ruined the internet. Or rather, it's done its fair share of ruining it.

malmon i don't get why people feel that way about cloudflare. i get people don't like the monopoly they have but they offer a decent product.

Dontmindme i pref just piggybacking off another service, may be less reliable but its something i don't have to manage or maintain at all.

        Two reasons for me:

        1. They effectively MITM most of the internet - you're not actually connecting to the website you want, but to Cloudflare, and all your data goes through the latter.
        2. They make it horrible to use a VPN. For someone like me in the UK, I generally only use one for privacy reasons, to access some Japan-only sites, or to bypass the occasional YouTube region lock. However, using one puts you so far down CF's shitlist that I've basically abandoned using it for privacy reasons. Just the constant captcha bullshit for every goddamn website on the internet did my head in.

malmon privacy nightmare indeed. Hard to beat their products and prices though, but they do have competitors. It’s always pros and cons

All it takes is for the same enshittification that hit Windows to also hit Cloudflare and then we're in for a doozy. Gotta sign in with your Cloudflare account to this Cloudflare site to prove you're not a bot! :^)
