30/06/2015 - Small Changes

Not as much changes as I would usually like to pump out, but at least it's something.

Fixes:

  • Fixed signature permissions for custom groups

  • Fixed the "edit" popup menu, it now displays above the title on the quick reply.

  • The quick reply now works on mobile/tablet.

New Stuff:

  • Added hearts next to staff member's usernames, hover over the heart to see their rank. Image no longer available

  • Doujinshi category.

Very Soon:

  • Group pages will get reworks.

  • Cometchat will die.

  • New PM system will be released.

What functionality does the new PM system add?

PMs will be threaded (so they'll be more like Farcebook), group PMs will be a thing, and they'll be what replaces cometchat (with them being displayed in a chat thing in the bottom right hand corner).

Nice work on the changes and fixes!

I look forward to the things to come, keep up the good work~

Personally I don't think that the group chat shit should be in the bottom right, rather group chat icon in the welcomeblock, when clicking said icon bringing up a list of group chats the user is in, or at least something that doesn't taint the page the user is on.

How would it be any different to cometchat?

CometChat already pollutes the site.

CometChat does more good than bad.

Debatable. I don't use it, it is a nuisance to me, and always will be. The ONLY time I use it, is if someone messages me first on it, or I am talking to you. I don't talk to you on it much anyways.

It's perfect for breaking the ice with new members, most people welcomed via cometchat end up staying or periodically returning.

I have a strong urge to setup a test of some sort to prove that theory, whether wrong or right.

give users the option to hide or disable it?

Yep. Of course.
