Five Nights at Freddy's 4 - Trailer

Posts

Supposedly the last in the installment. Scott Cawthon really milked this franchise for all it's worth - 4 games within the last year? Guy sure knows how to monetize his hype.

Anyway, it takes place at a house - your home? My guess it's going to break the 4th wall (hur) and supposedly, the "player" in-game is being haunted by the animatronics after playing all three games. Doesn't look like the gameplay has changed much, but can you expect anything different from the franchise?

EDIT: As it turns out, the game was originally scheduled for an October 31st release, but Cawthon decided on pushing the date forward to the series' one year anniversary - August 8th.

Some teaser images:

It'd definitely be interesting to see the game break the fourth wall. I won't be playing this, but at least the developer changed the setting.

heh, "fourth"...see what you did there. Anyway the trailer makes it look like a 3D engine which could explain what's taking so long but, yeah. I mean, I don't really blame him for making another, he makes profit. Would you blame him?

I've always hated the game itself but the story intregued me at first, and so did the community... kind of. But now both have turned to shit. I'm going to go with the popular opinion and say that this series has turned into a cash grab.

I have an interesting background story to this game.

So the original character designs were created for the CHILDREN's game in this trailer. Everyone was so off-put about the character design, as it gave off that Murder Chuck E Cheese vibe.
Well, the Dev pulled it from greenlight and went into massive depression. When he got over it, he decided to take all the feed back and make a new game. Now you know the rest of the story....

I implore you to watch!

Also, this developer has been know to donate loads of money to charity and other game devs.... so he's actually pretty cool.

I... don't even know what to think about it. I didn't really like the games - just a few jumpscares here and there to make you feel good. What I liked about it all, though, was the premise. More precisely, the lore and the theories about it. It just had its magic. Three games, three new perspectives to look at the story, three times more theories and speculations.
And now the fourth game, no more lores, no more story, no more theories, just you, your house, and the jumpscares. All the hype anyone might have had about this game has died. Well, except for the diehard fans of the series - middle schoolers.

Jesus christ why are these pieces of trash so popular?

I guess it's popular to get that temporary rush of fear that lasts for like a second and then it goes old really fast.

But it is not even scary. It is just a teddybear popping up in your face.

That's called a 'jumpscare'. In case you haven't been paying attention to youtubers (as games such as this, called youtube fodder, are often played mainly by the youtubers cause 'it's more fun seeing someone laugh at glitches/get scared'), that's a rather popular thing these days. All it does is generally make you 'jump in fear' from a split-second pop-up in your face. Feeding on surprise elements, in other words.

I have seen a few youtubers play but it is all just fake reactions. How that could entertain someone is beyond me.

What might be entertaining for some people might not be for others. You could say the same thing for anything acting-wise.

In this case, it just happens to appeal to the online audience.

The same reason Bad Rats is popular, because people love trash.

People are weird.

People only like bad rats ironically though, right?

Cawthon released the game even EARLIER than what he moved the date from.

Ok, so as many of you already know, I'm bad with release dates. The game is finished. 🙂

Enjoy!

Also, I see there are comments about the full-screen option not working correctly, I'll have that addressed before the day is over. Few more minutes...

Steam link here.

i don't want to associate with these people

I hate how reviews are based on how comedic or "original" people are when they aren't even serious. Funny reviews take over the more serious reviews and it leaves ratings one-sided.

Everything you need to know about Five Nights at Freddy's https://www.reddit.com/r/fnafcringe
The furry community needs some kind of ethnic cleansing, like a genocide. A Five Nights at Freddy's genocide. It's just a bad meme that some people took too seriously.

Oh, and, to celebrate the new trailer:

So I just opened youtube, a random video on my home page greeted me with Markiplier's coverage of this one. Quick google, this game is already released. Somehow it has a 96% rating on Steam. The fanbase...
You know what, I'm gonna give it a look, or at least watch somebody else give it a look, since I'm already on-board to hell with the upcoming reviews.

Meanwhile, a random review on Steam.

Here's my journey in FNAF 4:

  • Bought the game

  • Screamed a little out of excitement

  • Opened the game

  • Main screen = spoopy

  • "Night 1? Okay, this is going to be easy!"

  • Makes it past Night 1, sweating in buckets

  • "Night 2? Pfft, Easy."

  • Gets jumpscared by Cupcake - WTF

  • "I THOUGHT WE HAD SOMETHING SPECIAL CUPCAKE!"

  • Restarts Night 2

  • "Okay... I.. I can do this"

  • Runs to door

  • Clicks on Flashlight

  • Hair turns White

  • Restarts Night 2

  • ";-;"

  • Squeaks Freddy's Nose as a last chance of hope

  • Runs to door

  • Listens for breathing

  • No breathing

  • Clicks flashlight on

  • Soul exits body

This review is a Positive one with 0.5h played (didn't make a screenshot cause I can't be assed to change the Steam language which changed on its own to Polish), was marked as helpful by 1322/1801 and 1987 people marked it as funny.
I would mark it as helpful too, if you asked me. It just shows how terrible the fanbase is. But who the hell marked it as funny when the most I can squish out of myself after reading it is 'pathetic'?

I'm pretty sure at this point, if Scott Cawthon released a game completely unrelated in story and gameplay to the franchise and called it "Five Nights at Freddy's 5", the fanbase would still protect it, rate it "10/10 spoopy" on Steam, and draw the most absurd connections to it.
