Many matters end up on the political without an express aim.
People's views on sexuality, race, gender identity are going to "cause discomfort" even when somebody isn't meaning to start a discussion about the matter.

It's seriously doubtful that banning "political" posts in a social context where everything's political works.

Taking it to the extreme is not the point. It would make no sense to ban any talk about sexuality in a lewd forum. The point, I think, is keeping Jewish conspiracies and opinions of Immigrants to appropriate sections.

How about we all just chill? Aside from this thread the forum is very relaxed and on point, don't know about discord though; as I'm not on there.

Where did anybody mention jewish conspiracies on this forum

the point, I think, is

There's no "point", some want all hate speech banned, some want all politics banned, some want oddly off topic political statements banned. There are no propsitions, just hysterics and threats of "boycotting".

@Em. & @[deleted] Most of what people are talking about mostly refers to chats on discord, really. There hasn't been much problem as of late with the actual forum itself on this topic.

The screenshots compa-waifu posted seemed pretty tame, nothing to be horrified at if you've been on an imageboard.

Maybe, but keep in mind some people won't have an imageboard mindset - forums are meant for more in-depth discussion than imageboards.

But that's a chatroom.

The community uses both Discord and the forum for avenues of discussion, though. Like you said, the Jewish conspiracies thing might not be discussed on the forum, but it's been brought up in Discord a few times before.

You're right, it might not be that bad compared to being on an imageboard - but the problem being is when people think of it less like a chat and more of an imageboard with freedom to post what they will. This isn't a problem in and of itself, but when the chatroom looks like a /pol/ thread and people bring it up as an issue - like this thread - that's when it becomes a concern.

There's two issues at hand here: one is politics in the forum, which isn't much of a problem of itself - and politics in Discord. Right now, since #pol has now been brought back up again, it should be more contained within discussion.

The simple list of rules that neko proposed would work fine for chat. It's the forum that requires additional rules to keep things friendly.
