Anyone listen to metal? Can even be the -core stuff, despite many metalheads butting heads about whether its metal or not. I couldn't give a shit.

Recently found these guys, and fucking love it.

I don't listen to metal that often, but I do like stuff like this. (If this is even classed as metal, I wouldn't know).

I've been listening to a lot of Overkill lately.

Also @[deleted] have you heard of Jig-Ai? They're pretty brutal.

Sabaton is most certainly metal. Power Metal to be exact, you might enjoy

Ooo very nice, I like.

I've never heard a Mongolian band before. They're really interesting.

I'm going to fix this link tomorrow

Yeah they're really cool in my opinion. I follow them on Facebook and they're really passionate about their heritage and the instruments they use.

Venture into Power Metal then. You'll probably like what you hear for the most part. /r/PowerMetal (inb4 I get flack for browsing reddit) is a nice community to go to for some songs.

Not much for Sabaton, but I saw them live once a couple of years back and it was a great show!

I can't really relate with the music posted here, as Japanese metal and English metal are two very different styles.
Ah- but some don't notice it.
I can't really explain it, but I hope some people might understand what I mean? I'm not studying music as of yet I'm just learning how to play it, my school doesn't offer written work and such. 🙁 One day I will learn though. 😛

But yeah, I listen to metal! I listen to all music, but manily rock - thrash metal! I listen to heavy metal most of the time though. I'm not really all that fond on screaming, as in how the English use their growls and screams, but when it's used in a clever way I bloody love it.
I am a source of Japanese metal! Seriously, if you were want a song to jam out to pm me with a breif description and I'll give you options! ^-^

Ah- but I don't like Japanese metal 'cause I'm a weeaboo! I just like the instrumental more. >.<

Have you heard of Destrose? They're a great Japanese metal band, I really like them. They've only released one album so far though 🙁

What's your favorite Japanese metal band? I'm interested.

While I do indeed know of the band you're speaking of, (and think their music is pretty cool) the bands I listen to in Japanese aren't metal. For such a short question, for some reason it was so hard to answer.
While I forgot to say this before, it's true that I mostly listen to artists that aren't really out there (unfortiently, I should really expand my barriers). This is because I love their lyrics so much more, and the music really gets to my heart. Most of them are based off a true story or feeling in some way, even if the connection is very minor.
Ah- I listen to real people though.

I do like a band in particular, but it isn't metal. It's indie rock with like, the slightest bit of weight on the guitars. haha by that i meant its a little heavy but not really They were all solo before, and got together and made a band, but because they actually have their own music to deal with it's very hard for them to bring out music together. Regardless of that, they do it anyway because they love it.
They're called Einie if you're interested, but you probably won't like them.

I do love solo artists though. Such as Aikawa Mafuyu (mainly going by the name of Mafumafu /まふまふ) whom is extremely talented. He makes rock - heavy metal (mainly heavy metal) music, but originally started by covering music. Well- he still does but also makes the illustrations, movies and does the mixing and music for his own videos that come out every month or so! His voice is described a shota, and is often mistaken as a girl sometimes, I can't really tell you more about that since I never really heard him as a girl.
He can do a mini-growl and has amazing power in his voice, but it is a little high while just turning 25.

Ah~ I've gone on for a while.
Sorry I'm just passionate about music.
If this wasn't the answer you were looking for, then I'm really sorry. qwq

I tend to not pay a lot of attention to the lyrics unless they're very good or political. And most songs are based off of a true story across all genres of music unless writing about very far-from-reality things is an important part of the genre (Power Metal, Horrorcore, Death Metal, etc...). I listen to real people as well as vocaloids sometimes if that's what you meant.

I'll check them out later, they sound pretty interesting. I might like them since I'm not just into metal.
I don't really have a favorite band but there are some I really like such as Iron Maiden, Megadeth and Anal Cunt.

I think I've heard of him before but I'm not sure, I'll check him out too when I have some spare time. Most of the solo artists I listen to are guitarists like Marty Friedman or Joe Satriani, because I play guitar (duh). He (Mafumafu) sounds like a hard working person since it probably takes a long time recording videos and illustrations. I can kinda get why he does the mixing all by himself though. It's super expensive to record in a hired studio if you don't have a label.

Nah it's okay, but now I feel bad because my response is so short ;-;
heh I'm very passionate about music too. Hence why I play guitar and stuff.

Can't say I really notice the style difference. Sounds like metal to me. Perhaps its the usage of different instruments, or the playstyle. Or even the lyrical content. Guess, if all into the category of not really noticing it. I suppose that really isn't a bad thing though, I end up just clumping it all under the genre it belongs rather than calling it J-Powermetal, or the such. Sounds like you're really passionate about music, should definitely pursue it anyway possible. When you're that passionate about something its best not to let it go! 😛

Since we were on the subject of Japanese Metal...

That makes my life easier

You should check them out, but if you don't like distinct nasal in a voice then they might not be for you. >.<

Yeah, considering that me and Mafumafu do the same kind of thing (but I produce MV's a lot less often and they take me months if I animate them) I have a good idea at how hard working he is, and how admirable he is for what he does.
He normally adds a lot of symbolism in his MV's and does clever things such as lyric morphs.
Mixing is expencive... qwq But it's not all that hard to grasp yourself with the correct teaching and resources! o/

Really? You play instruments? That's awesome!

>.< You sir, are in my cool books!

Alright, because I don't wanan come off like I only like heavy shit. Here is some metalcore ^^ Mostly posting because I posted what I originally wanted to post LOL

I've noticed that in the music I listen to, they like their guitar a little higher and their rifts are slightly different to the norm in America.
I can't put it into words but yeah, it is different.

If you ever see me in the future subtle hair flip I'll most likely be under the name Ruiko (るいこ) or Ruu (るう) for short. It's kind of a known nickname of mine on the internet besides my gaming nickname Jebbika. >.<

Ah yes, if you mean how they play the instruments then I get what you mean. I'm not too sensitive to it, but there is something about metal from Japan that has a bit of a different sound, but you notice that everywhere. Swedish, and Norwegian metal have a certain tang, or way it sounds. German, Russian, Middle Eastern. You name it, it has a sort of uniqueness to the sound based on its region. Almost like an accent, which is really cool that music is powerful enough to be so unique, and amazing.

Thank you for being someone that doesn't say J-Metal, or J-__. I get tired of it. I understand if you're having a discussion between American Pop, Korean Pop and Japan Pop as a way to sort of distinguish which you're talking about, but in the end that all falls under the same genre. We shouldn't label genres based on region, gets too confusing at that point. Unfortunately it is really ingrained in the pop scene so it is likely to never go away.
