Would you consider yourself to be a shut-in?

Posts

Yeah. Most days I don't leave the house - it's fairly rare. I do socialize actively over voice chat and with my family though.

I already made that choice long even before I even left school, when the school staff asked me on where to go to on graduation, I made such a prediction that college is not my strongest suit and being someone with a condition with absolutely no cure, I stayed. I got lighter over the years somehow because I no longer was served school food or dealing with finals.

I did have a few outings with the appointments, but don't expect to see me out on the streets bathing in sunlight anytime soon. Even a few of my close school friends and my mother pretending to bite me on my nanny's bed once in the past mistakes me for being a vampire, but I'm truly not 100% one of these mythic creatures. This is because I only have two of my top big teeth that are closer to my upper lip, some of my other teeth are a little pointy but not sharp enough, and a few tiny spots between the teeth if I brushed too hard would bleed out the gums momentarily.

I also found out that my body doesn't seem to take kindly to sleeping at night either, so I end up sleeping during the day when most people should be awake, so I might be in for a near indefinite nocturnal routine.

I'm incredibly shut-in and live life online, because at least then I can interact with people at my leisure, and without having the awkwardness of smelling humanity around me.

Man... I don't know where I went wrong, but I barely even leave the house these days. Grocery shopping and doctor's visits, occasionally, but aside from that I'm usually at home, where my family barely interacts with me.

Things could be worse, though. I recently got out of a spell where I didn't talk to anyone, even online, and it left me in pretty bad shape. Never again. ;w;

Mm, it can be quite difficult, especially with unpredictable health issues

You know, it really feels nice to have that acknowledged for a change. Thank you, Maci-kun...

I used to stay in a lot. Now I find reasons to go out, like to get something to eat, watch a movie, study at the library. Doesn't work all the time but it's an improvement

Yeah, I guess I'm kinda similar in that I need to have some sort of excuse to go out. Today was sunny, and my friend needed a coffee table, so we went to ikea and had dinner in town~

You find anything good at ikea?

Mostly inspiration for when I get my own place - I didn't buy anything there myself~

Pretty much, and I don't think it's a bad thing particularly. Most of the time if I'm not working at my job, I'm doing homework or studying. My classes are all online, so I do them all in my room alone, many people have issues with online stuff but I find it far easier granted the professor doesn't totally suck lol. I don't really have time for anything that doesn't benefit skills I'm trying to improve upon. It's not to say that I can't go out and communicate with others, it's more of a time constraint on my end.

I might be comfortable with being a shut-in from now on, honestly. The usual pain a challenge, but the first time in months I venture out with family, they left me with allergies bad enough to keep me home from work.

It's safer to stay indoors. Comfier too. I really can't maintain this forever, though. I've gotten so frail, my arms remind me of Kirito's when he wakes up in the hospital.

walk around, look around

I like going out at night, even by myself
Definitely not opposed to being outside, I'm apt whenever an opportunity presents itself
Can't sit forever on the computer watching other people have fun lives

I agree with ya love, one hundred percent. I remember back in the day, I'd go stir-crazy if I stayed at home all day. Had to actively seek out crowds at the bookstore, just to get interpersonal contact.

I hope you keep it up for a good, long while. These are good habits to have. ^~^

I am if only for lack of better places to be.
Few friends I have are always working and the most that I'm outside is getting groceries or taking a walk the neighborhood.
I mostly prefer the indoors life away from people but if the weather's nice enough it feels good to walk around.

Yeah, I get it. My city is, sometimes, too beautiful to miss out on it, so I always enjoy taking a stroll around. It's not like I have the choice to be a shut-in anyways

No, I just have a hectic routine. During the day I always have an appointment to go or a family member to help. It's not like I hate it, but it's not exactly the pace I want for my life nor the things that I want to be doing.
