Group Threads in Recent Posts

But not in 'Today's Posts'; perhaps related to differing queries?
I don't know the first thing about running a forum or how you guys have set it up, so I can't just say "hur dur make it so only people in da group see it", although that's probably the optimal solution.
I'd definitely say that group stuff would be better in 'Today's Posts' as it's content that's irrelevant to any users not in said group and the 'Recent Posts' bit is a wee bit small.
Dunno, since I've only seen it with the SS ~;] I can't say if it's even really a problem.
Just thought I'd bring it up.

Then it might be worth it to fix it. Even if it'll be replaced by new software, at least for the time that the fix will be in place it'll be a much appreciated one. I often click on them going "Oh! I can participate in this discussion" only to be faced with the no permissions page. Which sucks.

Perhaps you just didn't see it? (I'm pretty sure you've used Lewd's current design, but just in case.)

The problem is that the query for showing all the latest posts is really slow, so we cache it whenever a user makes a post. it currently caches the threads that the user posting can see, which is where the problems come from.

Fixing it would require a rewrite of the feature, which is really not worth doing twice.

Sure it's inconvenient, but it's not that site breaking.
