Some useless statistics:

  • There is 2.4TB of content uploaded to nya.is

  • That content is made up of over 1 million files.

  • While Alexa is fairly inaccurate, Nya.is is one of the top 63,000 most visited websites in the world according to their rankings.

  • 3.9 million unique visitors used over 220TB of bandwidth over the last month. The majority of those visitors coming from the United States, with Italians coming at a close second. (cloudflare analytics)

  • Cloudflare helped save over 99% of the bandwidth used, with only 3TB coming from our origin server

Just created an account to say, thank you for what you've done during all this time, and to congratulate for how wonderful and fast was your service. I will really miss it.

got to be about the saddest thing to happen yet this year month, but at least it allowed me to figure out that this forum existed :^)

All good things must come to an end, I guess. Based on those statistics I'd say it was a pretty successful venture as far as file hosting goes. I had no idea that many people used it.

Edit: Yes, I signed up just for that. I've relied on your page quite a bit for my webm shitposting.

Someone that could probably be trusted with taking over Nya and keeping it open and maintained has sent me an email expressing interest in acquiring it. I'm sorta on the fence about it tbh, will probably converse with people about it when I've vetted them further - as I don't particularly want to hand over everyones data only for it to get lost.

thanks friendo. but it's entirely possible that you won't have to say good bye, as I'm considering an opportunity that has opened up for Nya.

What a blow, aww.moe shutting down too :p Oh well, nothing lasts forever. It's been good and I appericiate all the time you took running the service.

Nya.is is now owned by Josh, the founder of Kitsu/Hummingbird and will be transferred to him within the next day or two.

I'll write up an announcement about this later.

Oh yes. Nya.is still alive. Now Josh asking member Kitsu.io for help him curate anime GIFs on Nya.is.
