How many sketches are you planning to do?
[Updated 6/3] Agramon's Anime Art (Sketches)
Posts
Agramon wrotemalmon wroteI wonder, have you ever tried out drawing with stuff other than pencils? Adding some markers/ink might be quite nice for the thicker outlines.
Yeah, I plan on using pen and coloring soon, but I want to get better at sketching first so using a pen and coloring the sketches won't look like crap
You could also try out dip pens! I think they're somewhat commonly used in manga art.

I found a Strata 0.5 pen in my drawer. I also updated the thread with a colored thingy.

ooo I do like the coloured one!
Though by dip pen, I meant something more like this:

They seem pretty cheap on Amazon. Though, isn't it a pain to be constantly dipping?

I can't really say tbh. I only just got mine today ^.^
There's definitely more technique to using them than standard pens, but I guess it's an interesting way of adding more personality to your work. But yeah, they're not really a wallet-breaking investment along with some pigment-based ink if you wanna try them out. I can't draw to save my life, so my experience will be mostly based on writing, but I'll let you know how I get on as I play with it some more. What country're you in? There are probably some online stores more suited to selling this sort of stuff than Amazon. I'm currently waiting for my black paper to arrive, so that I have an awesome surface for trying out silver ink!

Well, that's the best place for online availability, at least.
Have a gander around the places shown in https://www.reddit.com/r/fountainpens/wiki/index#wiki_vendors, if you feel like it! I'm not sure if all of them have dip pens, but at least JetPens does under Pointed Pen Tools.

Alright, I'll check them out. Thanks
Updated with a Natsu sketch. Might color this.
Definitely gotten the courage to color and outline more!
New sketch! This one took me 3 days, and drawing the cape ruined my black prismacolor pencil :/
