puddles_suki As far as social media goes, I'm honestly not too sure. I suppose a good starting point would be to see if there are any forums around that cater to a specifc interest or hobby. There are still plenty of car forums, for example, though they're not always super active.
Other kinds of websites, perhaps @Backlash could point you towards some interesting ones, otherwise you could try search engines like https://www.wiby.me/ or https://marginalia-search.com/

for information about music genres, i highly recommend Every Noise at Once
there are various web games such as pokerogue, pokemon showdown, flashflashrevolution, and more.
People are also doing some cool stuff on neocities (replacement for the defunct geocities).

Dontmindme Heh, the nano server reminds me of a thing I saw on /g/ a while back. Some dude basically made himself an unblockable VPN by sticking a RPi inside a hotel room socket housing. Can't remember if he had it linked up via the hotel WiFi, or if there was an Ethernet connection available as well, but it looked so damn clever lol
